About the role: We are currently seeking to employ another Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The role is dynamic and interesting and is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious quantity surveyor to grow (or start) their career.

The person we are looking for: While basic quantity surveying knowledge and experience is important, critical to this role will be your attitude. Confidence, outstanding communication skills, attention to detail as well as a hunger to learn – will be the attributes that will set you apart from the rest.

Day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Helping manage project budgets to ensure financial targets are realised
  • Study and understand architect's and engineer's building plans and specifications
  • Prepare a schedule of quantities used in tendering, by measuring and estimating material and labour costs
  • Track and document sub-contractor base and performance to ensure a strong range of contacts are kept across all sub-trades.
  • Prepare cost reports before, during, and after building projects
  • Assisting the quantity surveying team with estimating, tendering, and quoting for contracts
  • Participating in contract negotiations
  • Contract Administration, including the timely billing of clients (and collection of monies due), dealing with materials/subcontractor requirements, management of variations, and ensuring final accounts are rendered on a timely basis
  • Liaising with the company's clients, contractors, and staff to ensure effective management and communication with regard to contracts
  • Attendance of site meetings and visit building sites to monitor progress
  • Monitoring and taking corrective action to maintain profitability on contracts
  • Drive relevant documentation and detail into Procore project management software
  • Ensuring the Group follows "best practice" with regard to quantity surveying procedures, processes, and policy.
  • Directly supporting the Commercial Manager in the day-to-day development of the business.
