Graduate Process Engineer at Arup Australia
Master of Professional Engineering - Chemical Engineering Major at University of Melbourne
8.00 AM
I get the tram to work and then it’s only a short walk through the park to get to the office.
8.30 AM
I get into the office and say hello to my team. I pick a desk and get the day started my checking emails and jumping into a weekly meeting.
9.30 AM
Every Thursday we have a team coffee catch up. Everyone comes into the office, so it’s great to connect and check in. We have a Barista on our floor, so we don’t have to go far!
10.00 AM
After coffee, I jump back into work. I’m working on many different projects; a couple include water treatment for Sydney’s water network and helping produce a serious educational videos for a client in Melbourne.
12.00 PM
I grab lunch with a few colleagues in the skypark on level two. It’s full of plants and sunshine and a great place to recharge.
1.00 PM
After lunch, I attend a graduate workshop with our learning and development team. I join a couple of breakout rooms to connect with graduates from different offices.
2.30 PM
Time for a battery recharge. I grab a timtam and a piece of fruit (balance!) from the kitchen to get me through the afternoon.
2.45 PM
I get back to working on projects and a client meeting. I also meet with a couple of process engineers in my team to get some help with extracting data from a programme. The process engineers in our team are super knowledgeable and always willing to help when I’m stuck.
4.00 PM
This afternoon we are having a treasure hunt event around the city! About 20 people from our water team join in.
