Your ideas and fresh thinking can help solve the future climate resilience, biodiversity and social challenges we face in a rapidly changing world. Our summer vacation programme is a 12-week paid placement over the summer university break. You will work with our designers, engineering consultants, sustainability advisors and specialists across the built environment as you build your professional presence and develop influence to deliver work that matters.
Our programme aims to equip you with valuable skills that will set you apart as you launch your career. It’s an opportunity for you to take a test drive before you graduate and see what your future could look like. On completion, you will be automatically considered for a graduate role, putting you ahead of the graduate pack.

The meaningful project work that I get to be a part of. I feel engaged and motivated in my role and enjoy coming to work. The team (and office more broadly) are friendly and supportive of my development.
You get to work flexible hours, meaning that you can start and finish when it suits you (obviously as long as you work a minimum of 7.5 hours a day, deliver the work, and attend the meetings you're supposed to).
Ample time and resources are given for training. Interesting projects. Great team, technically and socially.
The culture supports my aim of having good work-life balance. There are many social events during and after business hours.
The company has a very strong environmental stance and will not work on projects they feel could compromise their environmental commitments.
Sometimes the expectation to complete work I am unfamiliar with can be cumbersome.
The workload can become intense, especially with deadlines on large projects.
Some expectations are not laid out clearly. For example, what can be booked on your timesheet or when your time would be volunteered. - Internal tooling is only partially mature.
Business fluctuates working in a consulting firm which can lead to periods with a lack of project work. Feeling the pressure to be a productive employee with high billability, particularly during these periods of low workflow.
The culture varies between teams, which means that work and support can be variable.
