About Atlassian

Creating software that empowers everyone from small startups to the who’s who of tech is why Atlassian is here. They build tools like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Trello to help teams across the world become more nimble, creative, and aligned—collaboration is the heart of every product they dream of at Atlassian. From Amsterdam and Austin to Sydney and San Francisco, they’re looking for people who want to write about the future and who believe that they can accomplish so much more together than apart.

Your role

You'll join a team that is smart and very direct. They challenge each other to improve our work, learn, and ask hard questions. They're dedicated to Agile methodology and are big believers in 'lean' (which means we don't do the documentation for documentation's sake). They know the importance of validating assumptions about users and use several types of testing to figure out whether we're right (or wrong).

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Gain valuable exposure to the design and product development process.
  • Be mentored by our experienced designers in shaping your internship outcomes.
  • Experience Atlassian's culture through our many companywide and cross-regional programs.

Training & development

Atlassian's Student Internship program is a 12-week immersive program into everyday operations & responsibilities. Solve real-world challenges and work alongside cross-functional teams. As an intern, you’ll start your career learning from pros who are working on products that are helping millions unleash their full potential.

Benefits

Atlassian offers a variety of perks and benefits to support you, and your family and to help you engage with your local community.

Work life balance

Atlassian understands that life happens outside of work. That's why they don't expect a typical 9 AM - 5 PM schedule to work for everyone—they offer flexibility for you to do your best work in a way that works for you. Atlassian provides employees with an annual stipend for fitness and wellness reimbursements to encourage an active lifestyle. The benefit is eligible for qualified expenses like fitness classes, team sports, and sports equipment for Atlassians and their eligible family members. Read more.

Culture & vibe

Atlassian believes that the unique contributions of all Atlassians are the driver of their success. To make sure that their products and culture continue to incorporate everyone's perspectives and experiences they never discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, marital, veteran, or disability status.

About you

On your first day, we'll expect you to:

  • Be able to commit to a 12-week full-time (38hrs / week) internship. They may be able to flex on this slightly if your course timetable does not allow for a 12-week placement during this timeframe.
  • Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master in Computing Design, Product Design or related degree and completing your studies
  • Experience with user-focused design
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan while juggling multiple simultaneous projects
  • Experiences collaborating with team members, like engineers and product managers, and other designers
