As Finance graduates, we were provided with excel training from an external supplier which really helped our understanding of some of the spreadsheets used at council. The Finance division also has regular "community trainings" which can count towards CPD hours and covers a broad range of topics from accounting standards updates, modelling tutorials and workplace diversity.

Satisfied but was left to do modules for 3 days without any indication of what I was doing the following week.

Been involved easily into external and internal training workshops. Has the budget for improving my own learning and certificates. Informal training has been easy to reach out to team to improve my workflow.

AC provides a lot of training to help you settle in the workplace and get the extra skills in your area or other area in the organization.

Trainings are really good, covering a whole range of different content.
The Tupu learning page is not the easiest to navigate, sometimes when a training is done it's not automatically updated. Though, the support team does a great job responding.

Council provided me with the ITIL4 Qualification Course, ICAgile Fundamentals, SAfe training.

I am still in the training process but so far, they have run through everything I was wondering about. With the council being constantly changing it is good to be adaptable as you may need training further down the line whether it be learning new software, or a new department being made etc.

The Graduate induction process into Auckland Council provided us with a lot of information! But it was presented in a way that didn't feel overwhelming, we were all in the same boat. We were given the space to ask questions and felt safe to do so. All of the information presented to us over the 2 days was shared with us after the fact, so we all have the opportunity to review what we were told. What stands out to me most after a week is the emphasis on Wellbeing.

So far we've just done online module training/induction information things that have just been guiding us on what it's like to work for Auckland Council, their charters/unitary plans etc. Haven't had any sort of training as of yet to do with our actual roles. I reckon it'll be good once we're with our actual teams. Our people leader for our first department of rotation has shown her extensive plan for us, and we have loads of people within that team and outside of the team making sure that we are busy and satisfied! I will always have a personal distaste/not as much satisfaction doing online training things, as it just isn't the most ideal form of learning for myself, but I still learnt a bit..

A lot of training opportunities available if you keep your heads up. Professional development opportunities supported and paid by the organisation if passed. I have got excel and Power BI training which is useful for daily work.

Training and development programs are extensive at Auckland Council. There is always a new opportunity to learn more through the organisation's intranet. As a graduate, we are treated very well by our teams to have extensive training provides to us which ensures that we become capable of completing the work to a high standard and by ourselves.

AC has quite a number of workshops/courses you can take to further develop your work skills. These courses run both internally and externally. Since I started with AC in 2023, I have done IAP2 (module 1 and 2 courses), critical thinking courses and wellbeing courses.
As for development learnings, my graduate manager organizes learning sessions that she thinks would benefit the grads growth in policy. To name a few learning sessions - Naming and framing methodology: developing materials for deliberative forums, how to write a case study, how to write an executive summary, political neutrality/free and frank advice etc.
Graduate, Auckland - 08 Jul 2024
I have been encouraged to receive formal training (such as IAP2), and informal on the work training, including through short term secondments to experience related but different types of work

Very good, each FBP was assigned time to take me through the processes.

Training are regularly given and seniors are keen to help. When it comes to levelling up, sometimes it comes down to pay increase, therefore they limit the number of staff that can train up, even though we need more senoir staff
