The Auckland Council office on Albert St is quite nice, lots of different spaces for meetings and collaboration. I'm not a fan of hot desking but as I get in early each day, I can grab the same desk each time. The open floor design can create lots of distractions with movement and conversations going on in the background so headphones are needed to help focus. When I first joined council I felt the need to dress "professional", e.g. blazer, pencil skirt etc. After spending more time in council, you see that with the diversity of roles, some people are in jeans and a t-shirt, while others wear suit & tie. Depends on the day, but as long as you are comfortable and presentable, wear whatever you want. I am a fan of "dopamine dressing", lots of colour & pattern!! If you feel good in your clothes, it helps you be more confident & productive.

Good location, lunch options, activities. Does not have a gym on site and lighting is a bit too bright for my liking.

all satisfactory. toilets are little out dated but not a big issue. wish there were more outdoor areas but hard to come by in city location. in terms of location and office space I like it. dress code is fine

Varying office locations across the Auckland region with a relaxed dress code. Lacking in good provided snacks and hot beverages in the office kitchens.

The office is good, some floors with the beautiful sea view. It located in CBD and convenient to get the public transports but not friendly for driving, due to the construction in CBD area, car park is also a problem in CBD.

Not the best but definitely not the worst. There are areas where sittings are better that other areas (adjustable desk, chairs, etc.,). I wish the sitting setup was updated.

The flooring is nice, hot desking is okay. The moving floor is a bit unpleasant. Also, there are often really packed floor which result in difficulty to find seats.

Depending on the weekday there are some instances that there may not be enough desk available if you decide to come in on a day which is not your dedicated team day. As for the dress code it is not very strict but has to be at least smart casual.

For my rotation, I work in the local board offices and occasionally switch between three of those offices and the main office. The office spaces and facilities are excellent and very professional. There's ample space for everyone to work comfortably, and quiet rooms are available for those who need them for focused work or online meetings. Regarding the dress code, it's generally office casual for daily work. However, if there are meetings, the attire shifts to more office formal. The dress code isn't overly strict, allowing for casual outfits that make people feel comfortable and confident. This flexible approach contributes to a pleasant and productive work environment.

The office space is huge, right in the city center making it pretty accessible to get to but you would not want to drive. Due to the massive size of the organization and how many people are working for the council they do hot seats at the office meaning you do not get to claim a desk as your own. But there are usually some free desks available for you to work at. The dress code is smart casual, leaning more to casual. It mainly depends on which department you are working in but most people dress casually, no need to wear a shirt everyday unless you want to.

I don't have any complaints about the Albert st. office space! The facilities are great and I always know where to find my team. The dress code is mixed across the team. Everyone dresses for their day, in whatever form that takes.

Office space is nice, lots of different areas to work in to cater to our needs. Quiet spaces, private areas, or areas that are more talkative are all available. We have a lovely cafeteria with many food options. Toilets are good, some floors have period products available, but not all (sadly not on our floor). Dress code is really great in my department. I am able to wear clothes I feel comfortable in, and it definitely feels like there's no pressure to be wearing suits and dresses! Comfortable and tidy seems to be the way. People seem to wear what they want - we have some people coming in suits, others in more casual attire. Haven't had anyone mention a specific dress code, so it definitely feels more casual/smart casual.

Location is easy to access, equipment and facilities are awesome. Dress code is smart casual for office workers.

Auckland Council has nice offices, but they are not top of the line as it is a government space where all money is to be spent wisely. As a result, space is limited due to the large amount of employees in the organisation and equipment can get outdated at times. Locations and facilities are broad and well kept, we have a number of locations around Auckland due to the work completed across several local boards. Dress code in the office is semi-formal, it is acceptable to have both very formal wear and also semi-formal wear during the week. There is a smart casual dress code on Fridays for those wanting to have a slightly less formal attire at the end of the week.

I work in the Albert Street Office at the CBD. On department in-days like Tuesday, it can be difficult finding a seat or a meeting room as we are competing with other departments to find space. We have a seating arrangement in place for department in-days, however, finding a meeting room remains an issue. Dress code is business/formal-casual wear.

Our office is about as good as you can hope for when working as a public servant. Nice standing desks, and a double monitor at every workstation.
