Pros and cons of working at Auckland Transport

Pros

  • The culture - it's so welcoming and allowed me as a graduate to feel equipped and supported into my role and as my first job in the real world.

  • Flexible working, culture and diversity, high value on wellbeing and the large scope of work you can get involved in.

  • My department has an amazing culture. It is really supportive and everyone genuinely wants others to do well so they are quick to offer assistance when needed

Cons

    • Sometimes the line between who does what and what project belongs to who is blurred, so some people don't take responsibility, which then gets confusing and annoying.

    • Processes can take a little while and there is more red tape around certain activities/tasks/projects than other organisations perhaps. It's a shame that the perception of AT from the outside is not reflective of the culture inside.

    • Sometimes the work can become repetitive
