He Waka Eke Noa | Creating Great Together

BNZ Technology is a dynamic team of 1200 people who strive to be the 'Tech Shop of choice, powering BNZ's digital future'. With fast, simple, reliable systems, BNZ's Technology team create world class digital experiences for our people and its customers.

We're launching our brand new Technology graduate program, where you'll join some of the brightest minds in the business, who are building brilliant experiences for our customers and our people. This is a permanent role, and you'll be supported by experts in their fields. We'll guide you through development, coaching, mentoring, specialist graduate courses and give you many opportunities to step up.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Roles

When you join BNZ as a Technology Graduate in 2024, you'll have the opportunity to trial several of our domains on a rotation, and as part of this, you'll experience an array of technologies and ways of working. In year two, you'll 'un-graduate' and we'll find you a home team in one of our great domains across Technology.

As part of the application process, you'll be asked to select your preferred area of interest from the options below. Whilst your preference isn't guaranteed, we're pretty sure you'll love them all!

  • Mainframe (Wellington)

In short, Mainframe keeps our bank running! You'll gain highly sought-after experience with this technology (used by banks globally) and will rotate across our Cards and Payments, and Transactions & Investments domains.

  • Integration & Data Engineering (Wellington & Auckland)

For the server, host, and back-end enthusiasts. Gain exposure to globally recognised technologies like Informatica, AWS, Azure, Kafka, MuleSoft, & PEGA. You'll rotate across domains like Data & Analytics, Financial Crime, Cards & Payments and Engineering.

  • Web/Mobile Development & Testing (Wellington)

More of a front-end, full-stack, tester-y kind of person? This one's for you. You could be working on our test automation suite of tools, full stack development, web / mobile development and cloud technologies in domains such as Financial Crime, Customer Onboarding, Online Channels and Lending.

  • Cyber Security (Wellington)

Consider yourself a cyber security aficionado? Join the cyber domain and rotate across a selection of seven different teams like Cyber Defence, Information Protection, and Application/Cloud Security.

Ōu Pūkenga | About You

The great thing about the variety of our roles is that we're open to students from a range of disciplines, experiences and interests. What's important to us is your desire to learn, ability to work with others, and your drive to do great work.
