Was relatively painless no complex technical tests.

Fairly strenuous but thorough and enjoyable.

The assessment day was quite rigorous but in general well organized.

Initial job application (cv, cover letter) -> pre-recorded video interview -> in-person interview.

Was flown to Auckland to take part in a grad day that was fun. Had various teamwork challenges and an interview. Felt like a lot of effort was made to impress the grads. If you are keen to move into a different part of the bank, I have found that people will make the time to talk to you about the role which is nice. Interview process for my current role was an informal chat, interview, and then hired. Entire process took two days so very quick.

What was a technical project you have completed.

Asked about relevant experience. Time that I did well. Time I had feedback.

Don't recall but it was standard fare and high level conversing.

Read up a lot on what is going on in the world. Politics. Markets. The economy. Technology. Your area of expertise. This helps with both small talk and answering interview questions, putting yourself in the best possible position to do well.

Prepare well but understand what you will bring to the company, and how you fit in the picture.

Try to answer in a STAR format. The group challenges are more about seeing how you work in a team rather than the result you produce. They also want to see how you can add value, so be yourself.

Just be a good conversationalist. ask lots of questions.
