Private Wealth Graduate Program

A Career in Private Wealth

We are currently seeking students who are interested in joining our Private Wealth Graduate Program in January 2025.

Within our Private Wealth team, you will work closely with the Partners and Senior Advisors to support clients through every stage of life. Our teams provide advice on investment and wealth creation strategies, superannuation and pre-retirement planning, self-managed super fund and corporate super, portfolio management services, wealth protection, retirement and estate planning.

As a Graduate, you will provide timely, accurate research-based support to Advisers, participate in client meetings, assist with preparing advice documentation, maintain records and liaise with clients on general correspondence.

Checking emails, liaising with clients to receive information on their R&D activities, writing/drafting activities according to AusIndustry guidelines/ITAA legislation. Calculating financial incentives and meeting with clients.

Pros and cons of working at BDO Australia

Pros

  • The culture in and out of the office is great.

  • My colleagues are always willing to get out of their way to help me.

  • Great opportunity to learn. People are nice and not getting annoyed when I ask questions.

  • Never any pressure to stay late.

  • The training is great, I have learned a lot in my time here.

Cons

    • Pay is relatively low, however this is industry-wide.

    • The graduate program doesn't rotate us through all the service lines.

    • Some managers are great and give constructive feedback. Others do not provide you with proper instructions.

    • Dishwashers are small... toilets are not flushed... desk are most of the time dirty.

    • Could include more women, however this is the industry.
