We do many development and research to reinjecting non-coondensable gases back to the reservoir, finding alternative substitute to what we are using now if they are harmful to the environment.

Contact however has great initiatives that they work towards such as Net Zero 2035 where Contact energy is aiming to reduce there net carbon emissions to 0 by 2035. Renewable energy is a big focus and Contact continues to focus on finding innovative ways to achieve this goal.

We are leading the decarbonisation of NZ by generating electricity from renewable sources such as geothermal and hydro.

Promotes recycling, use biodegradeable cleaning compounds awareness raised if proper practices not followed environmental impacts are a major part of project execution and risk management on older plant.

From what Ive witnessed they are trying their best considering the economical and technical limitations.

There are several projects underway to reduce our generation emissions and reinject NCGs (non condensable gases e.g. CO2) back underground.

The Company is committed to becoming 100% carbon neutral.
