We have a 'Contact University' platform where we can enrol in a wide range of online learning modules/courses and monthly guest speakers who educate us on different areas of the business. In my day-to-day role, my mentor is super supportive and happy to answer any questions along with recommendations for extra learning e.g. books, online courses etc.

Company happy to allow any sort of training you put your hand up for. They pay for all expenses and want to develop your skill set. Trick is finding the learning that is right for you and setting time for it. Informal training is good, just happens on the job.

Contact Energy encourages a lot of self-learning. I've been given free access to paid resources such as Udemy and Contact Energy also has their own learning resource called "Contact University" which has a lot of courses on a variety of different areas in the company. You're also encouraged to block out a work hour of your week in your calendar and use that to focus on self-learning. There are also a lot of optional meetings you can join where another employee will offer to teach something.
Skills I've picked up:
- Databricks
- AWS
- NEOPOINT
- Power BI
