About the Role

We have an outstanding opportunity for a graduate who is looking to grow in the field of payroll. Our team looks after over 650 customers and you will be responsible for a dedicated portfolio of customers. This is a great opportunity to develop (or start) your payroll career with a team that truly delivers solutions second to none.

We are currently looking for a team player to join our Auckland based Payroll processing team. This is a great opportunity to develop your payroll career with a team that truly delivers solutions second to none. You will be responsible for processing the payroll and assisting clients with their payroll queries over the phone and email.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have the ability, providing advice and solutions specific to their payroll needs. You may be a recent graduate looking to start your career or maybe have a background in banking and now looking for a new challenge. It goes without saying that your communication skills will be exceptional as you’ll be involved in processing payroll and dealing with clients on a daily basis.

This role would suit someone who has studied finance, had experience in administration or perhaps worked in a team with strong numbers and customer service experience.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Experience in payroll, finance or customer service.
  • Smart and have a good attitude
  • Clear thinkers, logical , not easily rattled
  • Good with numbers and organisational skills
  • Have good communication skills – written and spoken
  • Understand customer service – that can-do attitude, nothing is too much trouble
  • Good under pressure – payroll is stressful
  • Computer literate (word, excel, email etc.)
  • Ability adapt and learn our system, as well as the payroll legislation at the same time.

My day to day work consists of front end software development and participating in sprint ceremonies such as retros, planning, refinements, and standups. I collaborate with the other developers on my team, and work back and forth with testers to fix bugs and ensure our work is up to standard.

Pros

  • Everyone is friendly, open to new ideas, willing to train, gives time for training and Lots of opportunities to seek new pathways Rewarding training paths Nicole my recruiter is amazing in helping with the transition and introducing me to the new rotation's leader

  • Flexibility and WFH, the best thing is being able to choose where I work from there is no requirement or force to be placed in the office, they understand the times have changed and they have moved with it not against also no Egos everyone is fair kind and reasonable

  • There are lots of interesting people to meet and learn from

  • Broad mix of projects to work on

  • The culture of the company and how supportive and collaborative my team members and manager are

Cons

    • Waiting for access to the customer site, but I can understand that it will take a long time to get software install

    • Slight disconnect with employees

    • The pay could be better. Sometimes I have to work overtime which can be difficult to work around my personal life

    • At the moment there is nothing I can say that is worst about the company

    • Lots of screen time
