What are we looking for?

We are looking for bright, talented people from a broad range of different backgrounds who share our passion for technology. This is an entry level position with an accelerated trajectory into the industry. None of the attributes listed below are mandatory but may be useful in helping understand if you would be good fit for the role.

You could be:

  • Someone with 1-5 years business experience in the areas of accounting, planning & budgeting, supply chain, inventory management, procurement, manufacturing, or human resources, or
  • Someone with multiple years of relevant work experience in one of these disciplines who is returning to work after a career break, or
  • Someone with a tertiary qualification in a relevant area, or
  • Someone with previous experience in a consulting or professional services environment

Are you looking to return to the workplace after a career break?

If you haven’t been in the workforce for a while, don’t worry. For this role we will offer coaching and support designed for returners to refresh your knowledge and skills and help your transition back into the workplace after a career break.  

How will you develop / grow?

There will be a three-month focused learning phase where you will learn key consulting skills, gain your certifications and test what you have learned in a safe environment. You’ll then have three months of ‘on the job’ training working alongside our experienced consultants gaining experience and added learning and development before graduating into our general practice where your development will continue.  At the end of the development phase, you will be placed into a role that reflects your experience and allows you to continue to develop your career.

Pros

  • Lots of opportunities/resources and the amount of learning opportunities and changing work.

  • The team are amazing and been very welcoming, and graduates cohort is inclusive and inspiring.

  • Very Flexible. I am able to leave early if required and not feel guilty.

  • Exceptional facilities, showers, towel service, standing desks.

  • There is a definitive journey within Deloitte. It is highly structured.

Cons

    • Timesheet and unitlisation.

    • The work can be tough and mundane as that is just the nature of the job. It has been hard as the interview process did not feel completely honest about what the day-to-day of the job actually entailed. Further, we are expected to do a lot of study outside of work for the first 5 months as part of a compulsory diploma all first year graduates have to do.

    • Organisational structure can be cumbersome/confusing.

    • Tight deadlines or turnaround... make it hard to plan out workflow sometimes.

    • A healthy work-life balance can sometimes not be encouraged by all.
