Corporate Social Responsibility at Deloitte New Zealand

As graduate we do not have much to do with csr initiatives, but we get to see the work that others do and are proud to be in a firm which has developed such an emphasis.

There are many opportunities for volunteering, networking. Intention to try aim to be more green, moving away from paper, having recylcying and compost, being given water bottles and lunch boxes.

Trying, becoming more sustainable in a lot of areas and it is an ongoing conversation

A number of opportunities, including hosting opportunities of highschool and university students to the office.

Lots of internal projects available if you have time to get involved. D&i initiatives, wahine toa initiative, cultural initiatives

Deloitte grow, volunteering, sustainability

They encourage us to reduce waste (i.E. Bring containers for our lunch instead of glad wrap) and have targets to reduce co2 emissions I believe.

There are multiple environmental and social programmes where deloitte either provide sponsorship or staff to help out for certain initiatives.

Air travel is our biggest source of carbon emissions. We have recycling and food bins.

I know there is quite a lot, off the top of my head I know that there is a large involvement with the pasifika community/businesses.

I have not worked on these projects as it is not my field

Although there are internal initiatives run such as clean up day, volunteer leave etc., There seems to be a lack of helping clients to step into this space. Gap needs to be bridged between internal and external csr development.

I have worked on some projects for social responsibility for clients which were interesting such as reducing carbon footprint etc.

The company does pro-bono work for community organisations/not-for-profits. There are some ongoing initiatives such as teaching financial skills in less privileged schools. However most initiatives readily accessible to staff are one-off days such as tree planting days, which seems superficial to me.

Volunteer days

None. Dropping our ONE probono job which was a charity for domestic violence. Very sad to see and shows a lack of CSR
