People are very open to helping others get better, and the leadership team are very open to providing specific opportunities in areas of interest if requested. There is a very large focus on structure and performance measures, which can be a limiting factor to enjoyment.
There are a lot of different views and methods on how to best serve the client within the team, sometime this can cause friction. However, as graduates we are not encouraged to get involved in this.
The best part about our team culture is the comradery amongst the junior levels, we are all in the same boat, and it is nice to always have someone who understand what you are going through.

During and after hours is great as this is a larger firm, there are more people therefore more people I am likely to be comfortable with, making socializing easier.

Everyone for most part friendly and easy to get along with. Have made friends quickly, helps a lot of us at similar age and stage in life.

The company culture is quite positive, I am comfortable to practice my religion and rarely one questions or make me uncomfortable wearing my hijab in the office. Within my department, mostly people go back home in time, although there are a few that would stay after 5pm to finish up their tasks for the day. Aside from that, I can also have a chat with my senior colleagues whenever, which I found a pretty good trait to have in a work place.

The office is large so it is difficult to know everyone, but within the smaller project teams the culture is great.

Socialising amongst colleagues is done very well its professional yet enjoyable and makes me feel supported. The graduates cohort is inclusive and inspiring. The work life balance is well managed.

Great culture and colleagues. However, can sometimes feel segregated between teams

I have two buddies who help me with my training and learning. My manager and then my partner. I find that in my office there is a nice flow between the hierarchy and everyone is still very approachable. Lots of common hobbies shared that are often discussed. After hours, many networking and socializing events with clients and referrers, not a lot done soul as a "office" except for team lunches. Nice to separate personal and work life, works well for me.
Graduate, Dunedin - 02 Sep 2024
Lots of camaraderie and office functions, however loses points as there are some differences in my values and the ones held by the people higher up than me (above partner level) that drive company policy (but you can't please everyone and I understand that I am a minority of opinion) people have been very kind though.

Great communication in my team and everyone is very supportive of one another.
Graduate, Auckland - 09 Aug 2021
Very team specific, some teams are fantastic while others need some attention and work. Good teamwork across the hierarchy and support for graduates.
Graduate, Auckland - 09 Aug 2021
In office there is no direct implications of hierarchy throughout the office, at just about any time of the day everyone and anyone is just about always open for a conversation. With such a large firm, there is an abundant of life experiences and skills that everyone is happy to talk to you about and help build your skill pool too.

There are social events every two weeks, a large awards night yearly, the ball, christmas party, and other events, which everyone looks forward to. Culture during work is entirely results-driven. People work together well, and teams communicate frequently, however there is a results - over - people focus. Strong hierarchy, therefore people socialise within their year groups, and not as much mixing in between year groups.

There is a strong emphasis on building team relationships and enjoying your time in the workplace
Graduate, Wellington - 09 Aug 2021
Everyone is friendly and sociable, going out for dinners, social sport teams
Midlevel, Auckland - 09 Aug 2021
Everyone is very nice! However everyone is also very busy so it can be hard to sometimes get the help you need. In my cluster, there is a work-life balance which is good but in clusters within my service line it is not as much. People like to go for drinks after work on a friday and hangout. There is definitely a hierarchy- interns/grads at the bottom, partners at the top. Grads typically do more of the admin type work .
Graduate, Wellington - 09 Aug 2021
In my team we work very long hours and there is definitely a 'high pressure' environment. The team is quite hierarchical, however the socialising is awesome.
Graduate, Auckland - 09 Aug 2021
The culture here is great - no matter the level of 'seniority', I always find that my senior colleagues are always happy to help me. They really go out of their way to make me feel welcomed and supported. There is also a great level of socialising between project team members and overall staff back at the office. Everyone is very kind and generous with their time, but they never expect you to work longer than your agreed hours unless a deadline is fast approaching and you need to work a few more hours to meet it.
