Working Hours at Deloitte New Zealand

6.9
6.9 rating for Working Hours, based on 76 reviews
How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
We all work in the office as much as possible, and being flexible with work hours is looked down on. Due to our individual kpi's being a large factor in our performance reviews, there is a pressure to put in more hours to avoid being left behind or be seen as letting the team down.

Currently my hours are aligned with expectations, but we are not yet in the busy period (may change).
Graduate, Hamilton - 16 Sep 2024
Work is quite flexible if I come in late, have days off most of the time, however there are many nights where I work a lot of overtime without additional remuneration.
Cconsultant, Rotorua - 04 Sep 2024
Tend to depend on job deadline and how well staffed the job is. Have experienced both good and bad in terms of work balance.
Graduate, Auckland - 03 Sep 2024
My company is quite flexible with the work hours, as long as you gave them a notice beforehand.
Graduate, Wellington - 03 Sep 2024
It is flexible, but there is conflict and confusion surrounding the expectation of overtime. While its not explicit, there is the understanding that to progress in your career consistently working overtime is necessary.
Graduate, Christchurch - 03 Sep 2024
Not so flexible, but not doing many overtime hours, I expected to have to do much more
Graduate, Dunedin - 03 Sep 2024
The only reason I am not rating this as a 10 is because I could be pushed a little harder, my time is almost too respected
Graduate, Auckland - 02 Sep 2024
Normally pretty good, sometimes hour can be inconsistent (sometimes too much work on sometimes not enough)
Graduate, Christchurch - 02 Sep 2024
Team is quite flexible in terms of working hours
Graduate, Christchurch - 02 Sep 2024
Very flexible. I am able to leave early if required and not feel guilty. Still hitting all of my targets and deadlines is the main focus if I do have to leave. Our work flexibility is highly communicated which makes it easy to know peoples movements within the team.
Graduate, Dunedin - 02 Sep 2024
Flexible as to when and trusting when it comes to sick leave. Must do the contracted hours per week but how is up to you.
Graduate, Wellington - 02 Sep 2024
Very flexible with our hours.
Graduate, Wellington - 16 Aug 2021
Its alright, I spend more time in the office than I would like, and seemingly many more than my peers in different professions. But it is manageable and when everyone else does it too it makes it easier.
Graduate, Auckland - 09 Aug 2021
Not much flexibility.

Deloitte is very open to flexible working, there have been times where I've asked to work from home and it was approved within a moments notice. The team is very empathetic and understands that people have other commitments outside of work, which are respected and actually given support for.
Graduate, Auckland - 09 Aug 2021
Somewhat. Good and getting better.
Graduate, Auckland - 09 Aug 2021
Most people work overtime every week. There is a flexible working policy in place, so if you would like to have arrangements made, it needs to be in writing. If you have an appointment, generally this is accepted and you must communicate in advance. In terms of working from home, managers prefer that graduates work onsite. Working onsite with the team makes it easier to communicate and there are more learning opportunities when you are onsite.
Graduate, Auckland - 09 Aug 2021
The company is relatively flexible as to when you work your hours, as long as you complete your work on time
Graduate, Wellington - 09 Aug 2021
Very flexible. Work standard hours but can leave if I have appointments or other commitments. Can wfh 2 days a week. Good flexibility
