My role is a challenging mixture of short-term product development tasks as well as long-term speculative research

I work on audio research and development tasks incorporated with software engineering. I find this very satisfying

I have a fairly good variety of different day-to-day tasks

I work closely with AWS services and work in various different languages, such as Kotlin, Typescript, Bash, JavaScript. I also engage with various people not only from my own team but also outside my team.

I work as a researcher which involves rapid prototyping of digital signal processing algorithms, designing and conducting experiments and creating demos.

Reviewing CI system, setting up recording equipment, writing/debugging code, writing testing plans.

My team is responsible for managing two of the mAPIs. We focus on the signal processing side of things, rather than the infrastructure. A typical week would involves writing tests, implementing features, debugging, listening, and meetings.
