We have a clear vision for the future and are committed to developing young professionals into our future leaders.  Did you know that the majority of successful applicants to our Graduate Programme worked for us as summer interns?

This year we will be taking on-board more than 40 summer interns – all across New Zealand! If you are serious about engineering, then we invite you to take this opportunity to research whether Downer is right for you.

OWN YOUR GROWTH

Through our Summer Intern Programme, you can expect a mix of onsite and office work to support our exciting projects. Work also can include:

  • Construction site work;
  • Project management;
  • Estimating;
  • Quality Assurance, monitoring and reporting;
  • Laboratory and Road Science.

OWN YOUR OPPORTUNITIES

Over the summer, you will have the opportunity to develop your personal skills from planning and delegation to communication and motivating teams.

We are looking for 2nd or 3rd year engineering students to join our 12-week structured Summer Intern Programme starting in November.

I feel I have been trusted and given responsibility, including client-facing work and engagement with field staff. Both provide many learning opportunities.
