The hours aren't too long and once you are past the grad stage you can work from home some days

Yes, they are very flexible. As I said with my sickness in May-June, they allowed me to get better before I came back into work. Unlike my previous firm I worked for, I don't have to be on my death bed in order for them to allow me to have a day off work.
When I got stuck in Wanaka because of bad weather, Al said its ok to come in a little later and tilde to drive safe. He was not mad or annoyed and I really felt like he cared about my safety.

We work from 8:30am - 5pm with a 1-hour lunch break. As our office is smaller this seems quite flexible. As long as you get your work done, I do not think the partners mind when the work is done.
Graduate, Queenstown - 28 Aug 2024
DC has been flexible with needing to take time off for appointments or special events.
Graduate, Wellington - 26 Aug 2024
I work from 8:30 to 5:00 generally. Some days there will be a need to work past 5:00. They are flexible when there is a need to be. I am able to travel back from Wellington and start later in the morning and work late on those days. It just takes a conversation.

I appreciate my work hours, which are quite favourable compared to other firms, though some days are naturally longer than others. Occasionally, I feel a twinge of guilt leaving at 5pm when others on the team are still working. As a recent graduate, I sometimes hesitate to request a work-from-home day for a doctor's appointment or other reasons, which can be challenging to manage. It would also be beneficial to have a designated supervising partner to turn to for such matters.

Contracted hours are 8.30-5. Hours are quite flexible - I've had to leave early a couple of times for appointments and there have been no issues. I've come in a little earlier the next day or cut short my lunch break to make up for it. Everyone is very good at communicating if/when they will be out. I've only had to stay late once, and that was to 7pm. Otherwise we are encouraged to stick to our contracted hours.

Work hours are from 8:30am to 5pm. There is no expectation to stay late unless absolutely required.
Graduate, Auckland - 02 Nov 2022
My partners in particular have been great - I haven't had any issues with needing to attend appointments or finishing/starting at different times.
Graduate, Christchurch - 02 Nov 2022
I've found the firm is very flexible with hours and I like that there isn't an expectation to stay late and give up your weekends. While I am conscious of the need to try and reach the 6 billable hours, this comes from internal pressure rather than external.
Graduate, Wellington - 02 Oct 2022
Pretty flexible, there is an expectation that if there is work that needs done you will get it done, but not that you will stay in the office just for the sake of it. Most partners seem flexible about taking time to do things you need to during the day, within reason
Graduate, Christchurch - 02 Oct 2022
My working hours vary from an 8.30am start to finishing from 5pm-6pm.
Graduate, Christchurch - 02 Oct 2022
My work ours are good. We are required to be at work at least 8:30-5. Usually you will be required to stay later then 5. I regularly work till 5:30/6. You need to work during these hours and it is not really an option to start early and finish early etc. However there is flexibility to leave the office for an appointment etc.
Graduate, Christchurch - 16 Feb 2022
As a junior, I don't generally ask for flexibility in my work hours, but any requests I have made have been accepted.
Graduate, Wellington - 10 Feb 2022
My company is very flexible when it comes to hours. The firm has an excellent work/life balance and working from home is an open option.
Graduate, Auckland - 10 Feb 2022
Occasionally have to work late. But the firm on a partner level can be flexible when it comes to working from home, coming in late if you stayed very late the night before, etc.
Midlevel, Christchurch - 10 Feb 2022
I come in early and leave on time. I am a morning person and prefer to organize my day and prioritize my jobs in the morning before I engage with my team and clients
Graduate, Christchurch - 07 Feb 2020
I work 8:30 to 5/5:30pm on most days. Sometimes I will stay later but not regularly. It depends on the workload and the type of work I have on. The company is quite flexible with work hours, I haven't needed to utilize this but could if I wanted to. Option to work from other offices is very beneficial.
Graduate, Nelson - 31 Jan 2020
