To apply for our Graduate Programme, you are required to be:

  • In the final year of your degree OR as a graduate, within 24 months from your graduation date at the time of application.
  • A New Zealand or Australian citizen or a New Zealand permanent resident. If you’re an international student, visit our Student Careers site to view our international student criteria to determine eligibility before applying.

What to expect

  • All candidates are required to submit an online application attaching their passport (or alternate ID), CV and academic transcript
  • All eligible candidates will be invited to complete our online job simulation which will include some short video questions
  • Once we’ve reviewed your application in its entirety, you may be invited to a Recruitment Day

Please note that it can take up to six weeks to hear from us as we have a rigorous recruitment process in place for our student programme roles.

Pros and cons of working at EY New Zealand

Pros

  • Everyone is really friendly and there is a lot of support provided to us especially for someone just starting out.

  • The flexibility and support you get in between projects.

  • We did a training week at the start which is standard. Most impressed with our online learnings platform.

  • There is absolute transparency over future prospects.

  • Good workplace culture of inclusion, fair management, good amount of social events organised by EY.

Cons

    • Hours and overtime.

    • Working at a big firm who hires the best of the best I can't help but feel imposter syndrome regularly.

    • Bonuses are non-existent. Pay feels far too little for the work we do.

    • Work demand varies which can make it hard when your top priority is to be on chargeable work and you cannot get on it

    • I feel there has been little training, and in the wrong areas.
