Eligibility
To apply for our Graduate Programme, you are required to be:

  • In the final year of your degree or as a graduate, within 18 months from your graduation date at the time of application.
  • A New Zealand or Australian citizen or a New Zealand permanent resident. If you're an international student, visit our website to view our International Student criteria to determine eligibility before applying.

What you can expect

  • All candidates need to submit an online application attaching their CV and academic transcript
  • All eligible candidates will be invited to complete an online assessment and will receive personalised feedback on the strengths displayed in the assessment. If you are successful, you will then be invited to complete an additional Job Simulation assessment.
  • Please note that it can take up to six weeks to hear from us as we have a rigorous recruitment process in place for our student programme roles.

I am currently on a project which just started, so I expect my satisfaction to improve, however, it is not work I am passionate about much, therefore, it doesn't fulfill my cup. With the limited amount of work going around now, I have to stick to it

Pros and cons of working at EY New Zealand

Pros

  • Everyone is really friendly and there is a lot of support provided to us especially for someone just starting out.

  • The flexibility and support you get in between projects.

  • We did a training week at the start which is standard. Most impressed with our online learnings platform.

  • There is absolute transparency over future prospects.

  • Good workplace culture of inclusion, fair management, good amount of social events organised by EY.

Cons

    • Hours and overtime.

    • Working at a big firm who hires the best of the best I can't help but feel imposter syndrome regularly.

    • Bonuses are non-existent. Pay feels far too little for the work we do.

    • Work demand varies which can make it hard when your top priority is to be on chargeable work and you cannot get on it

    • I feel there has been little training, and in the wrong areas.
