I am currently on a project which just started, so I expect my satisfaction to improve, however, it is not work I am passionate about much, therefore, it doesn't fulfill my cup. With the limited amount of work going around now, I have to stick to it

Pros and cons of working at EY New Zealand

Pros

  • Everyone is really friendly and there is a lot of support provided to us especially for someone just starting out.

  • The flexibility and support you get in between projects.

  • We did a training week at the start which is standard. Most impressed with our online learnings platform.

  • There is absolute transparency over future prospects.

  • Good workplace culture of inclusion, fair management, good amount of social events organised by EY.

Cons

    • Hours and overtime.

    • Working at a big firm who hires the best of the best I can't help but feel imposter syndrome regularly.

    • Bonuses are non-existent. Pay feels far too little for the work we do.

    • Work demand varies which can make it hard when your top priority is to be on chargeable work and you cannot get on it

    • I feel there has been little training, and in the wrong areas.
