Throughout the programme, you’ll hit the ground running with dedicated on-the-job training, coaching and technology onboarding. You’ll work alongside EY professionals on real clients – right now. You’ll get the opportunity to be immersed in EY culture, network with EY people, and experience the transformative work done for EY clients. Plus, the best bit is, if you impress us we’ll offer you a permanent position after you graduate. We’re currently looking for students from a range of degrees.

To be eligible for our Internship Programme, you’ll need to be 

  • In the penultimate year of your degree
  • A New Zealand or Australian citizen, a New Zealand or Australian permanent resident or a holder of a valid work visa

Pros and cons of working at EY New Zealand

Pros

  • Everyone is really friendly and there is a lot of support provided to us especially for someone just starting out.

  • The flexibility and support you get in between projects.

  • We did a training week at the start which is standard. Most impressed with our online learnings platform.

  • There is absolute transparency over future prospects.

  • Good workplace culture of inclusion, fair management, good amount of social events organised by EY.

Cons

    • Hours and overtime.

    • Working at a big firm who hires the best of the best I can't help but feel imposter syndrome regularly.

    • Bonuses are non-existent. Pay feels far too little for the work we do.

    • Work demand varies which can make it hard when your top priority is to be on chargeable work and you cannot get on it

    • I feel there has been little training, and in the wrong areas.
