Job Satisfaction at EY New Zealand

I am currently on a project which just started, so I expect my satisfaction to improve, however, it is not work I am passionate about much, therefore, it doesn't fulfill my cup. With the limited amount of work going around now, I have to stick to it

Doing the beginning/junior tasks e.g., auditing of cash.

Shadowing senior co-workers, PowerPoint, Building relationships

Assurance Associate 2 (role). Audit testing and procedures at graduate level.

I am typically either working on data automation or quality assurance

I have just begun a new engagement which is a great new experience

Ad-hoc. Testing accounts as part of audit procedure.

Working on the tasks that I am allocated on the job I am booked on or helping on a different job

Audit. Prepare working paper based on the requirement Understand the accounting treatments of the client Collect evidence when necessary Inquire client when necessary Judge whether client's accounting treatment is in line with the standard Document our observation and conclusion

Making powerpoints, emailing client, reading reg guides, assessing if the client is meeting standards

A lot of flexibility

Depending on what project you are one and what role you are doing in that role, the day-to-day responsibilities change

Have worked as business support across a range of projects. Responsibilities have included project management and administrative support.

You have a lot of trust placed in you early on, which allows you to be creative and problem solve. This is always done in a safe way, such that you have support when you need it.

As a consultant I'm usually on 3-4 projects at a time. Day to day this includes research, data analysis, report writing and modelling. Also administration which goes along with these projects including set up, scheduling time with managers and partners to review work etc.

Engaging with clients, drafting reports, attending team meetings. Solving complex problems! Outside of my usual role, I volunteer through EY's Ripples program and do work for Diversity and Inclusion

We are mostly based on client sites which is fun, and we do a lot of testing over data

Assisting Managers, Senior-Managers and above with day to day delivery of a project (e.g. writing reports, research, financial management, meeting notes etc.)

audit client financial statements requesting accounting evidence from client. vouching accounting evidence

Auditing clients financial accounts - working mostly on validating the account balances by "testing" samples within the balance. Make enquiries about unusual transactions and general aspects of the business i.e. litigations, related parties etc.
