Please describe the interview process and assessments.
two online interviews and one assessment center
Graduate, Auckland - 13 Sep 2024
Took about a month overall (from application to hire). Had a few rounds of assessments (logic, working style, etc.) and then was invited to the assessment center which is basically a full day interview on zoom - with a mixture of individual and group interviews/tasks. Got the offer after that
Graduate, Auckland - 13 Sep 2024
For graduate, we have online test, virtual interviews, and assessment Day. Felt respectful and warm welcomed during the process.
Graduate, Wellington - 13 Sep 2024
Initial assessment quiz -> one way interview -> virtual group assessment -> job offer
Graduate, Auckland - 29 Aug 2024
organized and good interview process.
Graduate, Auckland - 29 Aug 2024
Very delayed and unresponsive, but interviews and assessments were straightforward.
Graduate, Auckland - 29 Aug 2024
The process consisted of 3 stages of assessments, the first and second consisted of different quizzes aiming to get a gauge of how you think both intellectually and practically when it comes to potential work situations, the second stage differed to the first in having recorded answers to explain your answers. The third assessment was a full day program with interviews and hypothetical situations to see how you act under pressure and in teams for work related situations
Graduate, Auckland - 29 Aug 2024
The hiring process takes a long time to get a response, so patience is needed. The assessments were okay, from Psychometric/Technical > Assessment Centre > Behavioural > Offer.
Graduate, Auckland - 28 Aug 2024
The actual interview and assessment centre were done well. However, the lack of communication between stages was very poor. You would only get communication a week or so before the next stage was meant to start where there would be a month or longer between stages.
Graduate, Wellington - 26 Aug 2024
Screening, online tests(code and behavior), onsite assessments center
Analyst developer, Wellington - 24 Aug 2024
Several rounds of interview. 1 is phone screening, 2 is a series of general intelligence tests, 3 is a technical test, 4 is an assessment centre. I think, has been a while.
Graduate, Wellington - 15 Aug 2024
It is a little bit hard and has too many questions to do.
Graduate, Auckland - 29 Oct 2023
There are a lot of assessments!
Graduate, Wellington - 25 Oct 2023
I had to take a few tests after applying, then was asked to come to an assessment day where I did a combination of solo and group assessments, and also had my 1:1 interview on that day. The solo tests revolved around maths, estimation, logic and some general technical knowledge. I felt like they did a good job of taking a lot of different things into consideration, and they're good at taking into consideration the high pressure environment of an assessment day when looking at your results
Graduate, Wellington - 25 Oct 2023
Very thorough and multiple stages
Graduate, Wellington - 25 Oct 2023
Structured and well-organised for the most part. Lots of different stages, which was frustrating, and it took a really long time after the assessments were done for me to receive an offer.
Graduate, Wellington - 25 Oct 2023
Process was nice and easy. Full support from HR team. Assessments took a lot of time and effort but that is exactly what you expect when applying to such a position. Mostly questions about logic, math, coding etc
Graduate, Auckland - 25 Oct 2023
The process is smooth, start with online IQ, logic and behaviour tests. Second round, record some videos for the previous what you done. Then check your grade, after that is the Assessment Centre. Have a group interview, individual math, logic and estimation test. And a behavior interview in the end.
Graduate, Auckland - 25 Oct 2023
Two interviews and a grad assessment day.
Graduate, Wellington - 24 Oct 2023
Pretty standard technical and cultural interview by software standards. Offered across in person assessment centers and online ones.
Graduate, Wellington - 24 Oct 2023
What questions were you asked in your interviews?
There were quite a few but these are the ones I remember: - What was your thought process for the way you did the [allocated task on the assessment center)? - If you could pitch FNZ a product, what would it be? - What would you say is your strength and how did you last use this strength? - What would be your approach to [scenario where things go wrong]? - How long would it take an adult human to drink water out of an Olympic-sized swimming pool?
Graduate, Auckland - 13 Sep 2024
Was asked normal interview questions during one on one. Was asked to come up with a solution/summarize data to give to manager (hypothetical situation ) in group activity
Graduate, Auckland - 29 Aug 2024
Thinking outside of box type of questions
Graduate, Auckland - 29 Aug 2024
Nothing technical, mostly questions to gauge our personality and logic.
Graduate, Auckland - 29 Aug 2024
for the third assessment the questions asked were mostly tied to the hypothetical situations to see how you would respond to them. The actual interview questions were mostly about myself, my experience and general questions to see if I was the right fit.
Graduate, Auckland - 29 Aug 2024
Maths, Logic, and Estimation Questions. Technical coding questions. Typical behavioural interview questions.
Graduate, Auckland - 28 Aug 2024
A few general personal and behavioural questions, but a lot of questions around why FNZ specifically and how my values align with FNZ's.
Graduate, Wellington - 26 Aug 2024
How to handle pressure Adapt to changes in work Timezone differences
Analyst developer, Wellington - 24 Aug 2024

Graduate, Wellington - 15 Aug 2024
Some questions about math and logic, some questions about estimate and group project.
Graduate, Auckland - 29 Oct 2023
Whether I would work over time. Many logic and behavioural problems.
Graduate, Wellington - 25 Oct 2023
How long it will take you to walk along the coast of Australia.
Graduate, Auckland - 25 Oct 2023
I was asked to describe something I'd done at uni recently that gave me a sense of accomplishment, as well as the basic "describe your weaknesses" and "what made you want to work here" questions. I can't remember many other questions as my interview was also quite conversational, and they asked a lot of follow up questions to do with my answers
Graduate, Wellington - 25 Oct 2023
Technical, behavioural and estimation questions.
Graduate, Wellington - 24 Oct 2023
I was asked math, logic, and estimation questions. We had a group activity where we had to debug an issue. Also had a 'culture' interview that was like 20 mins.
Graduate, Wellington - 11 Aug 2023
Typical behavioral and motivational questions were asked but my interviewer also asked a lot of personal questions that we were able to connect with.
Graduate, Wellington - 11 Aug 2023
Can you do overtime work?
Graduate, Wellington - 11 Aug 2023
Technical questions like math, logic, and estimation, then followed by fit interviews
Graduate, Wellington - 11 Jul 2023
Like how do you think work on business ? What do you think of criticism?
Graduate, Wellington - 11 May 2023
There were estimation, math and logic questions.
Intern, Wellington - 13 Dec 2019
Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
show yourself, show your energy
Graduate, Auckland - 13 Sep 2024
Honestly, if you made it to the final interviews then you got to act like it. Be confident (even if you don't feel like it). Answer interview questions like you know what you're saying or that you believe in what you're saying. Also, I don't think there's a "right" or "wrong" way to answer the interview questions. I think they just wanted to see how you think. Another tip is to ask the interviewer some questions too. Shows your genuinely interested in working for them etc.
Graduate, Auckland - 13 Sep 2024
Don't hog the spotlight and let others talk. Acknowledge other peoples opinions
Graduate, Auckland - 29 Aug 2024
Research the company
Graduate, Auckland - 29 Aug 2024
I think obviously learning about the company in both their principles but also the work they do and how you would fit into it. Otherwise, it is mostly about you as a person so as long as you put your best foot forward I wouldn't overthink it
Graduate, Auckland - 29 Aug 2024
Practice being enthusiastic and eager to learn. You don't need to know everything, but we are looking for talented individuals who are willing to learn and continuously improve.
Graduate, Auckland - 28 Aug 2024
Read about FNZ Group from their company website and do good research to understand about their business properly.
Graduate, Auckland - 27 Aug 2024
Look into the FNZ website and really see if the values and the company vision align with what you want to do. This company cares a lot about its values and vision and strive to stick to those everyday. If you cannot see yourself living those values and pursuing that vision then it will be difficult to persuade your way into a position at this company.
Graduate, Wellington - 26 Aug 2024
Be honest and be open mind
Analyst developer, Wellington - 24 Aug 2024
Practice for the intelligence and code tests.
Graduate, Wellington - 15 Aug 2024
Research the company, work culture and the types of problem solving questions they ask in interviews
Graduate, Wellington - 25 Oct 2023
You can't really prepare much for the tests, as the technical knowledge is only a small part. The main consideration is the interview, they really want to find someone they think will be a good fit for the company. If you want to do well in that, learn what the goal of the company is and be open to change and trying new things. They want people that genuinely want to learn and grow at the company, and it can be a high pace environment that requires flexibility
Graduate, Wellington - 25 Oct 2023
Brush up on SQL, and get plenty of sleep the night before the assessment centre.
Graduate, Wellington - 25 Oct 2023
Stay sharp and always try to explain your logic how you ended up with your answer. Wright one or wrong one
Graduate, Auckland - 25 Oct 2023
Be yourself. And always be positive.
Graduate, Auckland - 25 Oct 2023
Be ready to answer questions about overtime. Do some practice on general iq type questions like pattern recognition etc.
Graduate, Wellington - 25 Oct 2023
The technical side of the application process was (imo) extremely basic. Would focus more on soft skills side of things. Much harder to prep on soft skills unfortunately, but if you've got some past experiences that illustrate soft skills (group projects in Uni which turned out well, areas where strong communication skills helped you in previous jobs, a particular challenge where you came up with a creative solution), think about how best to bring those up. Also keep in mind that FNZ is looking for a particular culture fit; if you can tie in some of your soft skills to their values ('customer obsessed for the long term', 'Think big and make an impact', 'Act now and own it all the way', and 'challenge, commit, and win together'), they'll be pretty happy with that.
Graduate, Wellington - 24 Oct 2023
Be your best self.
Graduate, Wellington - 24 Oct 2023
Advice I would give is to go through the website thoroughly and see how you relate to the company values as it is a big part of the company and the interviewers love hearing about it.
Graduate, Wellington - 11 Aug 2023
I think grades are weighted reasonably heavy and same as the tests. Just do your best really and be affable and friendly.
