Suntory Oceania is seeking a talented Research and Development Graduate to join us in 2025!
As a leading beverage manufacturer in the Oceania market, Suntory Oceania has a rich 60-year history, growing from a local juice company to a trans-Tasman beverage leader, known for its iconic range of drinks including V Energy and Suntory BOSS Coffee.
United by Suntory’s Yatte Minahare spirit, the permission to dream big and the determination to make it a reality, we’re embarking on a new chapter of growth, as we partner with Suntory Global Spirits to create Suntory Oceania, a new multi-beverage powerhouse across Australia and New Zealand. Underpinned by our diverse talent, market-leading brands, quality craftsmanship and a strong sense of purpose as partners we will create Oceania’s fourth largest beverage player with over $3bn in retail sales.
With an inspiring growth trajectory ahead, there has never been a better time to join the Suntory family. From mid-2025 in Australia & early 2026 in New Zealand, we will own local manufacturing, sales, and distribution for our full portfolio of alcohol and non-alcohol beverages. By harnessing the best of Suntory from across Australia and New Zealand, we will offer a unique portfolio of over 40 market-leading brands – powered by two local manufacturing sites, five distribution centres and more than 1500 Suntorians.
Together, we will bring the best of Suntory to Oceania!
What’s on offer?
As a graduate at Suntory Oceania, you will be immersed in a two-year programme where you will gain real experience across a range of teams within our organisation, providing opportunities to stretch the way you think and put your studies into practice while connecting with incredible leaders; all with the aim of creating strong foundations to launch your career.

As part of our graduate programme, you will have the opportunity to work in our Supply Planning, Logistics and Operational Excellence functions. The opportunities in supply chain are endless whether you’re more numbers focussed or you like to be hands on and get in the “gemba” we will help you find your passion.
Suntory Oceania sets out to attract the best people, and we know that once we have great people on-board, we need to continuously develop their skill base and leadership mind-set. We are committed to your personal growth and to providing you with the tools necessary to further your career.
Are you up for it?
Here at Suntory Oceania, we don't take ourselves too seriously and like to have fun, but we don't shy away from a challenge, and neither should you.
Our recipe for success includes the following ingredients:
You'll need to be completing your undergraduate qualification in 2024 to start in January 2025 and you'll also need to be a New Zealand citizen or resident.
“What about the perks?” we hear you say…
In addition to being part of a great team, we offer flexible working arrangements, a day off on your birthday and learning and development opportunities that are hard to beat.
When we’re not working from home, you can find us at our modern offices in Manukau (which is a great perk to beat that inner city commute), with plenty of onsite parking and complimentary fridges stocked full of our iconic beverages to keep you energised (BOSS Coffee or ‘V’ anyone?)!

I have a lot of responsibility which is good as it shows I am trusted amongst my peers
I have been given many different responsibilities throughout rotations in raw materials, product development and science and regulatory affairs. Although I have worked on smaller improvement jobs I would love to continue to make my mark and for the company to benefit from my input
My day to day responsibilities include product tasting, sensory training, product development project work, consumer research, GMP audits and process improvement (to name a few). No two days are the same.

The creator and distributor of some of New Zealand and Australia's most iconic beverage brands.
I really love the team culture and the support to be curious and to expand your knowledge all the time.
The opportunities I have been given have been incredible and I feel very lucky to be a part of such a great work environment.
The culture is great as everyone is very friendly. We also hang out outside of work socially which shows they're more than just your co-workers.
The flexibility with hours has been great.
Great Managers - they all want the best for you and look out for you. If you ask for it they will guide and push you to be the best you.
Lower than standard salary with annual pay reviews.
Maybe one thing would be the slight disconnect and miscommunication that comes with managing new and old processes.
The commute and traffic with offices being out in Manukau.
I lose track of overtime hours I have done and don't often take the time off that I am owed.
The hiring process was well communicated and engaging but it was a very long process.
