I've learnt more about insurance than I thought there was to learn. The training sessions are always informative and you're constantly learning.

Initial training at GEO and onboarding/tier one was great. We were offered heaps of time to focus on e-learns and modules to develop our understanding of our role and the insurance industry. The better broking training was good in the most part, especially the support we got in the office after we launched. The Proforce sales training was ok in parts but probably too long for the value we got out of it and wasn't very specific to our actual role here and probably better done internally.

Minimal really poor in terms of training. No set training systems in place and very informal. Depends on the team you are in regarding what informal training you receive.

Training was very useful especially in this type of industry. Having managers and executives run seminars and programs to teach new employees on systems, programs, and general industry information was incredibly insightful and useful. Furthermore, having one on one training with an experienced department member proved useful to teach specific skills relevant to the work completed.

- Proforce training (recruitment company): I attended 6 different training sessions. I learnt about negotiation, sales techniques such as SPIN. I learnt about the importance of soft skills. - During our on-boarding, I was taught about the systems Gallagher uses (iBais mostly). - During my time in some teams, team leaders provided me with training resources.

The company pays for external training throughout the program which is beneficial in not only your career with Gallagher, but as a whole. They also pay for your insurance specific training which helps develop skills and knowledge to the specific role you're in, which is a must.
