About Google

Google's mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful and make life easier with a little help from their products. Google is committed to significantly improving the lives of as many people as possible.

Your role

The Student Researcher Program’s primary objective is:

  • To foster academic collaborations with students through research at Google.
  • The Student Researcher Program offers more opportunities for research students to work on critical research projects at Google in a less structured way.
  • The program allows opportunities beyond the limitations of a traditional internship program on aspects such as duration, time commitment, and working location (with options for on-site or remote).
  • The topics student researchers work on tend to be open-ended and exploratory, and don't always have a clear deliverable like a traditional internship would.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in research to develop solutions for real-world, large-scale problems.

Training & development

At Google, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside a team of Googlers to solve real-life problems while developing and learning from exceptional leaders. An external training partner will also support you during the program. You will be mentored and trained in various tools and techniques, distilling down data for actionable takeaways and making recommendations across different business groups.

Benefits

The benefits are:

  • Free meal
  • Office cab/shuttle
  • Cafeteria
  • Office gym
  • Job/Soft skill training

Career Progression

As an intern at Google India, career progression often begins with gaining exposure to diverse projects and teams, honing technical and soft skills, and building a network within the company. Successful completion of the internship might lead to opportunities for entry-level roles or extended engagements in specific domains, depending on performance and alignment with Google's objectives. Interns who exhibit exceptional talent, adaptability, and a commitment to innovation might be considered for full-time positions, setting the stage for continued growth within Google India.

Work-Life Balance

Google is known for fostering a positive work culture that emphasizes work-life balance. In Google India, employees can often access flexible work hours, remote work options, and various well-being programs. The company encourages a healthy integration of personal and professional life, supporting employees in maintaining a balance that promotes productivity and overall well-being. Internships should be compulsory for everyone if you have the resources at your disposal. I would say try to diversify your internship experience in college because college is the right time to take up such responsibilities and learn a few important things.
