Application Process & Interviews at Ixom New Zealand

The interview process was very extensive and there was too long between stages and I believe many good candidates could be lost during this process.

Similar to many other hiring processes. Psychometric testing, one way interviews, two way interview and an opportunity to speak directly with HR and the graduate coordinator was a bonus.

1 round of Psychometric testing. 1 video interview. 1 in person interview.

The interview was great and I was guided well through each and every stage.

Online assessment, video interview, then face-to-face interview in front of 2 interviewers.

The process can be quite slow in the beginning from sending in an application to then doing an online video question response. After that you do psychometric testing, in person interview and if you are successful have a pre health assessment.

The questions were tailored to my work experience and it showed that the employers knew who they were interviewing and had read my resume.

Some technical questions regarding previous roles. General interview questions such as how have you overcome previous challenges.

A lot of situational scenarios "Give us a time where you ..." My interviewers were also quite interested in my extra-curricular activities. (Drama, Sports, Clubs, etc.)

Tell me about yourself and some behavioral questions.

They were all situation based questions. Give an example of a time where you.... or what would you do in this situation.....

Prepare a few anecdotes that could be molded to form responses for various questions. Such as times you challenged the status quo or experienced uncertainty in a task.

Come prepared for general interview questions. Just be confident in yourself and make it clear that you can work well in a team and that you are open and friendly.

I would say think of your 3 strengths and 1 weakness. Try to detail those 3 strengths in your situational answers and then if they ask what had gone better, elaborate on your weakness.

Be open to take suggestions and be ready to do any work. No work is unnecessary and you can learn a lot for each and everything you do.

Personality is a huge factor. The company wants GOOD people. You can teach someone how to do a job but you can't teach them to be a good person and a good employee. It all comes down to behaviour, personality and values.
