We’re looking for graduates who are up for a challenge, eager to learn, can build relationships and are keen to transform lives of our communities, our customers, and our people. We pride ourselves on living by our values and offering a caring, empowering, imaginative, and future-focussed career. If that’s important to you too, then apply for a position in our Graduate Program.
Our Graduate Program
We offer our grads a structured, two-year program. This includes:
We’re currently accepting applications for our 2023 Graduate Program in our TEK division.
What We Do
TEK (Technology, Engineering & Knowledge) is an internal team of specialists who work closely with all disciplines across John Holland (Rail, Infrastructure, Building, Major Projects) to ensure outstanding outcomes are delivered for our customers. TEK works with the business to develop operational and delivery methodologies to foster technical excellence across engineering, design management, digital engineering and systems assurance.
As a TEK Graduate you will be office based with the opportunity to gain invaluable exposure across all stages of the project life cycle, being involved from the initial tender to project delivery. This will include site work on projects throughout the rotation.
Suitable Majors

We are committed to building, valuing, and promoting diversity and inclusiveness. We understand that our greatest resource is our people. We provide long-term career options within an equal opportunity workplace where we recognise the importance of flexibility and a healthy work-life blend.
Fair workload and expectations given my level of experience. Interesting with development opportunities
Services engineering, services design, site coordination
As a Site Engineer, my daily activities include coordinating with subcontractors to ensure timely product delivery within budget constraints. I review design specifications to ensure that civil work adheres to these standards, and I collaborate with the design team to address any issues that may arise. Additionally, I manage quality documentation, purchase orders, and invoices. I also plan for upcoming weeks, oversee concrete orders, verify reinforcement, and handle procurement tasks.

Construction & Property Services
We're building infrastructure for the future. We're looking for people to join our high-performing team. Who knows where it might take you?
The best thing about working at John Holland is being able to work in projects that create meaningful changes in our society as well as work with like-minded people.
The culture around the team and the graduate program is amazing. Heaps of networking opportunities with the other graduates which is great.
The culture and support from People. The ample opportunities that the company provides to try new projects or to try different roles.
Wide range of projects that leave a lasting positive impact on the community.
Exposure to different projects and industries that I am exposed to in my normal day-to-day life.
The expectation to work very long hours permanently, on site, throughout the entire project.
Limited mobility across different teams/departments, people tend to specialise in an area and stay in the same role in their career instead of exploring different pathways.
It can be hard to transition if you are not used to being autonomous with your workload/tasks.
Extensive hours you will need to commit – early starts and late finishes, especially if based on site.
Company is so massive that you can get lost as another number.
