KiwiRail Summer 2022/2023 Summer Internship opportunity for Mechanical Engineering Interns in Wellington!

We have 2x internship positions available to start on the 21st November till the 17th of February. The role will be in our Locomotive Maintenance frontline team which will be working throughout the Christmas period (public holidays off). However, if you have plans over Christmas we are happy to discuss them.

Te whiwhinga mahi: The opportunity we have

Rolling Stock Asset Services (RSAS): This opportunity will be hands on practical experience in our Wellington Locomotive Depot located off Aotea Quay, Pipitea. Our RSAS team manages the full life cycle of our rolling stock (locomotives, wagons and passenger cars) including fleet planning, engineering, procurement, commissioning, maintenance and asset management.

We are looking for engineering and rail passionate students. We are interested in talking to those who have completed at least two year of studies/are working towards a degree in a relating major or equivalent tertiary degree.

Additionally, you will have:

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships quickly and effectively
• A curious, practical, and innovative mindset
