Out the door - car to station and train into head office - work in a quick draft for the day in the life of a grad.

Get to work and settle in. Start up the laptop while I get a drink and morning snack.

Catch up on emails and quickly reschedule an internal procurement meeting due to last minute client meeting.
8.45 AM
Assist with estimated project cash flows - cash in/out and margins - for engineering projects.
9.00 AM
Finalise and compile agreements for consultants for engineering projects.
10.15 AM
Discuss with a subcontractor to understand the methodology and costs for proposed changes to be submitted to the client.

Reporting and reconciling costs for month end in preparation for monthly contract review for engineering and health projects.

Bite to eat.

Start on finalising latent conditions report for the health project to be issued by COB.

Liaise with the procurement team to understand due diligence process and current documentation around preferred tenderers and compile a list with all tenderers and the documentation required before agreements and subcontracts can be issued.

Quick team catch up on client meeting with project director for health project.

While on site hold discussions with the senior project engineer about upcoming priorities.

Discussing/sending out proposed changes with the commercial manager for the health project.

Just as I’m about to close my laptop project leader for the engineering project stops me to discuss the agreements that needs to be out by tomorrow morning.
