Our Summer Intern program is a 10-week comprehensive program that offers exposure to multiple business areas and practices, and potential for a Graduate role in our Launcher program. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a real work environment while contributing to the department's objectives. You will also be tasked with completing projects that will enhance your skills and knowledge relevant to the Information Security Engineer role.

Job Description

As an Information Security Engineer Intern with Mastercard's Corporate Security team, you will play a role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all our operations and data. This is a critical concern in today's interconnected business environment, with increasingly sophisticated threats. However, it also presents a clear opportunity for Mastercard, requiring strategic thinking and decisive action. 

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of security policies and regulatory compliance (i.e. PCI, GDPR)
• Develop technical aptitude in complex technologies and strategies.
• Work on projects with members of the Information Security team.
• Participate in social events with other Mastercard interns.
• Deliver a presentation on learnings at the end of the program.

Requirements

• Currently in your penultimate year of a bachelor's degree program majoring in Cybersecurity or a related field with an expected graduation date between June 2025 and December 2025
• Experience in technical skills (i.e. code development, platform management, sys admin, etc.)
• Understanding of security services (authentication, vulnerability management, security log monitoring)
• Willingness to collaborate and learn.
• Curious mindset
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Able to commit to an internship period from 4 December 2024 to 2 February 2025 (Note: designated start/end dates cannot be negotiated).
