Your role
Morgan Stanley is seeking interns to join the Legal & Compliance Team for the Apprenticeship Program.
In the Legal & Compliance division, they protect the Firm’s business by identifying risks and designing programs and policies that guide internal teams on ways to address or mitigate those outcomes.
What you will do in the role
Provide advice and guidance to employees on their investing and outside activities.
Make sure Account related documentation is complete.
Review employee personal account trades.
Review alerts that have been escalated/referred to by the 1st line team.
Perform research to confirm whether the alert is a positive match or false positive to the client, or whether the alert is deemed to be not risk-relevant, and document findings.
Participate in team meetings.
Assisting in organizing and preparing agendas and papers for board meetings, committees, and shareholder meetings.
Conducting legal research and assisting in other ad hoc project work.
Assisting in the organization and maintenance of form/template contracts.
Duties such as tracking the status of legal matters.
Coordinate and collect information, compile analysis reports and track implementation of recommendations to completion.
Law firm onboarding, due diligence, and compliance assurance prior to engagement.
Resolving invoicing exceptions through analysis and adherence to standard policies and guidelines.
Budget monitoring and maintenance within the budgeting tool
Process rate approvals.
Real-time maintenance of different databases.
Gathering requirements from teams on optimization ideas.
Analyzing process time saves on efficiency and optimization ideas implemented.
About you
Education level
Bachelor's Degree
What you will bring to the role
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Should exhibit comfort working with technology and the ability to learn and display proficiency in technical systems and programs.
Proficient with MS Office.
Proficiency in programming languages such as VBA and JavaScript is desired.
Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is desired.
Team player who can successfully manage multiple projects and priorities.
Ability to think independently, form opinions and make decisions.
Ability to anticipate ahead of time and escalate issues as appropriate.
Pragmatic and analytical problem-solving skills - consistently apply sound judgment.
Good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills with the ability to apply sound reasoning when delivering work.
Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the needs of the team as they arise.

This is a 6-month internship program designed as an opportunity to learn more about the important role that Legal & Compliance plays within the Firm. This structured program is designed to give interns insight into this division and an opportunity to develop and master the analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills needed to develop an exciting and rewarding career. The training will continue throughout the course of the program with structured learning sessions run by senior executives.
The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM India time, depending on the team supported, with flexibility on standard working hours for time-sensitive matters (including India Public Holidays).
