Immediate team leaders have been very good in my experience. upper management leaders have had good humour as well. sometimes kpi differences between differing departments show that there is not as much cohesion as could be possible. all interactions i've had have been positive however.

My direct manager is great.
management in general is pretty poor.
there are some good managers but the vast majority of management is pretty out of touch with how things are done and the processes which are implemented across the company

Direct leaders are accessible and great mentors. senior professional generally help the juniors. general managers and above are inaccessible and out of touch.

Many have left my team disgruntled and would not return purely based upon how it is run, gaining a poor reputation. in many aspects that is due to poor communication, a lack of recognition and feedback, favouritism, and a strong demand to give more. management meeting attendance is poor, which is somewhat understandable in some circumstances, but not all.

Management have really improved communication in my department in the last 2 years. there is also a lot more recognition of individual contributions.
Graduate, Brisbane - 15 Jul 2024
My direct managers who i deal with on a monthly basis are fantastic, middle to upper management is a different story due to the cost cost approach to everything and there is no focus on employee satisfaction.
Graduate, Brisbane - 15 Jul 2024
I have found some managers good, and some not very supportive. some have been good mentors, and some have been very hard to communicate with.
Graduate, Brisbane - 15 Jul 2024
My direct managers could not be much better. always super friendly, approachable, and willing to help

If you get a team leader that is good at communicating, involved in projects/discussions, treats everyone equally and advocates for you (like my current team leader) you feel more motivated to work and appreciate any feedback you get. my previous team leaders were not involved in any of my everyday work nor did i ever have a 1-1 with them so this made it hard to understand performance feedback and lack of recognition.
managers and function leaders on the other hand are more harder to get in touch with to get feedback/praise/recognition and this can be frustrating as if you apply to any other role/position or would like to relocate, particularly as a graduate it makes it very difficult. unless you have a team leader who can advocate for you and is good at communicating you are at a disadvantage.

Direct managers are accessible and value development.
Graduate, Perth - 26 Jun 2024
My managers have been great, they are very supportive, however they are extremely overworked and have very little time to be able to give you too much attention at a time.
Graduate, Perth - 26 Jun 2024
My managers in my current team are very good mentors and communicate praise and recognition well. have not been through any formal performance review with them however. my team leader from my old role was also a very good mentor and communicated expectations well.
Graduate, Adelaide - 26 Jun 2024
The direct managers are great. however, the higher up the chain you go, the worse the communication becomes.
Graduate, Brisbane - 25 Jun 2024
Managers have been accessible and approachable in my experience.
Graduate, Perth - 24 Jun 2024
I have liked all of my team leaders. they have been there to help me rather than hinder me.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Jun 2024
Direct managers are great, upper level management feels disconnected from the day-to-day operation.

Management have been excellent in regards to communication and feedback

Direct team leads to date have been very accessible and great mentors, facilitating my early-career and integration into the company. performance feedback and recognition has been well-received, creating a sense of belonging and purpose to the company.
higher-up managers (i.e., team lead reports), have not required to access. am aware, however, if there was a need to, they'd be accessible via my direct report team lead.
internal communications are typically cascaded down reporting lines, where i receive from my team lead. pending the extremity/magnitude of internal communications received, this may incur a conversation amongst myself and team, however, to date, has not negatively impacted my performance/ability to work at the company.
Graduate, Adelaide - 24 Jun 2024
The managers that i have met are all great and make a good working environment. they encourage you and listen well to your feedback. direct team leaders often make good mentors to junior staff such as myself on the graduate program.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Jun 2024
My manager and mentors are very accessible. they are very approachable. currently i haven't really worked long enough to have some more long term feedback, however the short term feedback has been very good.
it would be nice to have more familiarity with the hr side of the business.
