Graduate Engineer at Service Stream
Bachelor of Engineering at Western Sydney University
8.30AM
Start the day with a caffeine hit! Super necessary to get through a big day!
9.00AM
Most team members would have made it to the office by now. This is the best time for a quick team briefing and casual chat. Today I’ll be heading to one of our project sites in the Royal National Park, so I took the opportunity to ask some questions before going out.
10.30AM
After a scenic drive through the Royal National Park, I arrived on site. Firstly, I signed in with Traffic Controllers at the entry gate and then signed onto SWMS and other paperwork at the site office.
11.00AM
The site supervisor gave me a rundown of the scope of works and overall status of the project.
This is a slope remediation project consisting of bulk earthworks, piling and pavement construction. As always, I took the opportunity to ask a heap of questions and pick the brain of the experienced construction supervisor.
12.00PM
Safety is always paramount! I took some safety observations while on site. This is a great way to improve safety on site and acknowledge the forward-thinking safety conscious behaviours that are already being practiced.
1.00 PM
Lunchtime – Time to refuel for the rest of the day and have some social time with co-workers.
Side note - This chicken schnittysandwich was a 10/10!
2.00 PM
Back to the office to tick off some administrative tasks and attend some meetings.
5.00 PM
That’s a wrap for the day! Time to tone down, relax and start again tomorrow.
