We are hiring now for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join us in Hamilton in early 2022!
If you have completed/on your way to completing your tertiary qualification in BE(hons) ME or PhD or similar, have great verbal and written communication skills and an excellent eye for detail, we want to hear from you!

My day-to-day responsibilities include quality assurance for different construction projects. A few different responsibilities include sizing ponds, assessing landfills, and infrastructure assessments.
I am seconded to an alliance, where I work on Land development projects for Housing New Zealand. Prepare reports, running analysis, and organizing and carrying out investigations.
I am involved in multiple projects. It sometimes involved going out to site doing site investigations and supervising contractors. Also, office work such as logging, report writing etc.,

Everyone is very friendly and supportive. Great team and team leader. Very interesting and varied work.

Cons
Lack of intermediate staff who you can go ask for help without worrying about how busy they are.
Everyone is very busy, it can be difficult to find time for non-project related work such as training, career development, discussions etc.
The variable workload
High stress when projects are due
Sometimes, project commitments conflicts and all of a sudden there is a big workload. I also get stressed when some projects have a tight deadline and budget and I have to really push myself to try to deliver within budget.
