Had a 'grad experience day' that included our interview. Got to learn a lot about T+T

It was an interview to become an intern, I talked to the discipline managers. The interview was very well conducted. They describe to me what the work would involved as well as employee benefits. Following the interview the follow up from the HR team for the recruitment process was very smooth and prompt.

The interview process was over half a day and involved much more than just an interview. We had a team problem solving event where we constructed a bridge out of lego and had to work together to do so. I had a friendly 30 minute interview with 2 senior members of the company, one in person, one over the computer. This went smoothly and we spent a lot of time discussing hobbies, interests, and other things outside of work. This made it comforting.

Written screening process, then online interview (if I remember correctly), then in person interview.

I just had one online interview for a scholarship and got the job through that. Was pretty informal and relaxed.

Attended an assessment day where we learnt about the company, met the other applicants and had our interview. The process was excellent and well organised, which made me accept this offer over competition. The offer was made quickly as well.

Was a whole day during exams which was a bit annoying….

Interviewed online through teams. No additional assessments.

I had a phone interview and an in-person interview.

I was already working as a casual before being hired as a full-time. Interview was very short and informal. Skipped all the other assessments

I submitted a CV and a cover letter, which was followed up with two interviews. I was out of town, so this was over Skype.

Easy, laid back, nice people

I had to go through two interviews, the first one being 1 hour long. The interview was easy going and just felt like a conversation you would have outside. The second interview was only 10 minutes long where two other people asked me a couple of general questions and showed me around the office.

Single in-person interview

Applied outside the regular graduation process: CV was sent to one of the project managers by contact. I was directly invited to an interview and had a job offer 2 weeks later.

Going by memory here as it was so long ago. I think they asked some of the following: 1. What areas of engineering are you passionate about and can see yourself working in? 2. Why do you want to work in T+T 3. What I do outside of study 4. Examples of leadership in my life

Not many technical questions, more along the lines of how i would fit into the workplace.

We had a problem presented to us prior to the interview which we were to give a short response on, so we discussed my answers to that. This mostly focused on my presentation of the answers and not the answers. I was asked if I liked report writing, and about my experience from my summer job. Then we discussed hobbies and interests.

Past work experiences, approach to teams, technical experience, time management etc.

What do I do outside of work, why am I interested in civil engineering.

How would I deal with stress, how would I manage workload, how would I prioritise multiple jobs.

A lot of general interview questions.

What I enjoyed most vs what I enjoyed least with regards to engineering work? What do I do outside of work?

I was asked about my hobbies, interests and work history.

What is the most important thing in a consultancy firm?

Work history, future ambitions, scenario-based questions

Some technical question, but the focus was on my interests and social stuff.

A bit about my personality/attitude toward working in teams. Some technical questions about my approach to machine learning, and overall skill set. It's a while ago now, so I can't remember specifics.

Various. not so much technical questions.

Be yourself. Be confident and personable.

Do some research on the companies values and vision. See whether the vision resonates with you. Look into the company culture and see if you would be a good fit. Get involved in activities outside of study to improve on interpersonal skills. I think my company values candidates with good soft skills not just the technical skills.

Come with a positive attitude and connect with current employees who can put in a good word.

Be yourself, don't lie about your abilities or experience. Prepare a question or two for them at the end. I found this helpful to show my interests in the company and learn more about the company.

Be sincere and confident, with an open mind to learn as much as you can.

Sound passionate about what you are doing. Top grades don't always get you the job, need to be pretty well rounded and able to follow instructions and be confident to ask questions.

Don't stress about needing to remember specific engineering formula/ process. They are more interested in you as a person.

Be yourself and think outside the box/be truthful when answering questions.

Be humble and be willing to accept different roles

Research about which sectors the company specialises in, some of their key jobs and the key company values

Be yourself. Be open. Inform yourself about the company before going to the interview.

Be passionate at what you do, be a good communicator. Feel "fresh" for interviews. Being technically brilliant is a big plus :)

Have something interesting to tell from your private life, not just work-related to show that you are an overall interesting individuum
