Career Prospects at Transpower

Numerous opportunities. Grad programme runs for 2 years, after the first year or so you are encouraged to apply for vacant full-time roles.

Can only easily move from graduate engineer to engineer easily. Monetary incentives to move into management instead of senior/principal engineer.

Both technical and non-technical career progression. Was made very clear during induction.

Ex-grads seem to do very well in Transpower and are found at almost all levels of upper management, or in senior technical roles if they prefer.

Lots of room for growth

The career progression pathways within Transpower and the wider industry are well-documented. The obligations and indicators to move up in roles are clearly defined.

For a graduate there are plenty of opportunities. You can pretty much go into whatever team you wish (Provided there is an opening and the timings line up). As for promotion possibilities after the grad programme, it is somewhat limited. The typical career progression is Engineer -> Experienced engineer -> Senior Engineer -> Manager/Principal Engineer.

The industry is growing, along with the company, so lots of new positions will open up in the future, allowing you to progress your career.
