As well as doing great engineering, we engineer great careers.

As New Zealand's leading provider of industrial design, build and maintenance services, we can provide the career challenges, project scope and professional opportunities you simply won't find anywhere else.

We know how important your first role is because we've been there too. We also know what makes a good engineer, and we aim to give you the building blocks of a successful career. While technical learning is important, to really thrive in this environment you'll need to engage and interact well with people, be confident in your own ability, and able to actively manage yourself. An ability to think and work pragmatically would be a bonus too. You'll be well supported and mentored on this journey by some of the best senior design engineers in our business. We have a Graduate Development Programme that involves structured development and a chance to show your leadership skills along with your colleagues as part of our Graduate Development Organisation.

Our graduate roles start in our New Plymouth office to give our graduates the best start to their career. With offices in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hastings and Whangarei our graduates have opportunities to work nationwide in a variety of industries.

We are looking for graduate engineers with a Bachelors in Instrument & Controls Engineering (or similar) who are ready to kick start their careers. As a graduate I & C Engineer, you will be involved with small, medium and large size projects. This will include seeing a project through from its inception all the way through to commissioning and completion. You will be able to see every aspect of the project cycle. As a graduate engineer, you will also have many opportunities to get on-site and see everything first hand. The primary focus for an I & C Engineer is with hazardous area design and installation as we are a large oil and gas company, however along with projects outside of oil and gas i.e. building services and renewable energy.

If you'd like to find out more about this opportunity, our great organisation, and how you can apply then please check us out at www.worley.com/careers. Applications close 9 August 2020.

As a graduate I work under the supervision of more senior engineers to produce many deliverables of detailed design e.g. calculations, drawings, datasheets, technical reports and operating procedures. I participate in several formal assessments such as HAZOPs, HAZIDs and design reviews as a scribe.
