Application Process & Interviews at Airbus

The process consisted of an initial application, a video interview, and an assessment centre that included a short interview.

Online assessments > Online 'interview' > Assessment centre comprising of various group activities and real interview. Assessment centre was fun and made the interview less intimidating.

Submission of CV/cover letter, followed by a group assessment centre which included one on one interviews. The assessment centre involved a lot of teamwork, critical thinking and problem solving activities.

Easy and not intimidating. Its more about giving you the opportunity to tell the employer what you are good than determining where you lack competencies.

Online application, video interview and online aptitude test, assessment centre

Submission of resume and cover letter followed by a pre-recorded video answer response. Assessment centre of approx 20 candidates with 12 positions available. Assessment centre consisted of group activities and 1 on 1 interviews.

This involved some online assessments and interview. Once that was passed there was a group interview.

Stages - resume vetting, online interview (recorded), assessment day. Assessment day was informative and great to see some of the company (two sided day - great to understand what you would be getting yourself into).

The one question I remember being asked was about my ability and willingness to work in an industry with a high regulatory burden.

Technical combined with behavioural questions.

Problem solving, critical thinking, technical aerospace related questions, questions about fitting into company culture, previous experiences.

What is your best quality? What makes you enjoy a workplace?

Previous work experience, university studies, basic knowledge of the company and its assets.

Reflective - problem solving, morality, teamwork etc.

standard HR and engineering related questions

Be involved in things outside of your courses - involvement in clubs and societies, volunteer organisations, etc. all make you more employable.

Make sure you want to work in the defence industry.

Not just understanding the technical aspects of the work but being able to show that you've learnt from past experiences and are applying these lessons to improve yourself both personally and professionally.

Research the company and know what they do at the location you are applying for. Research general job interview questions, and be prepared for a technical question that will challenge you.

Be yourself, ask questions and be prepared to answer why and how this position would benefit you and the company.

Not really any way to prepare. Dress well (some candidates were informal - bad manners) and reflect on some background questions outlined earlier.

Know as much about the company and role as possible
