Pros & Cons

Flexible hours, great mentors, challenging tasks
Reasonably flexible work hours
I enjoy my role and hours are flexible
Exposure to industry and professional engineering workplace.
Located near the airport
Overwhelming learning curve at the start
A steep learning curve. Not a lot of easily accessible information on full processes/documents and what they are used for. Also lots of acronyms to begin with. However, as I said, everyone is willing to help and support you if you need it.
Slow moving projects that take months to complete can be frustrating - it is difficult to drive change when the focus is on supporting systems rather than technical assessment and design.

It is possible to transfer between teams, and also move up the ranks within your team. I am not sure on the process, however.
Facilities I have worked at are located at Brisbane airport and Oakey Army base. Office facilities are above expectations and well maintained. Dress code is business-casual with the exception of casual dress on Fridays.
Online assessments > Online 'interview' > Assessment centre comprising of various group activities and real interview. Assessment centre was fun and made the interview less intimidating.
Technical combined with behavioural questions.
Make sure you want to work in the defence industry.
Very flexible. I was studying at the time, and my manager was happy for me to come in as often as I could. On holidays, I was in every day. I often began work at 7am and finished at 3:30/4pm. This fit well into my schedule.
