Good opportunities to do white card, working from heights, confined spaces training. occasional external training opportunities

There is a variety of formal training i have received that is mostly ansto-process or safety related. the most important training i receive is on the job in the lab where experienced chemists pass on their methods in synthesis to me.

Online learning platforms. paid training opportunities. radiation safety training. i have learnt about australia's political system.

A lot of the training that was advertised as being provided to the graduates did not happen.

There are a very large range of training and development programs available at ansto. it is mandatory to complete many of these as part of the graduate program.

Great training programs, and funding available for extra training if necessary.

Ansto supported me to go to a couple of conferences in my field. there has been good in-house training targeted to work. more general face-to-face training has been a poor use of resources that could be redirected elsewhere.

The compnay desgined a two week training program prior to starting work and a second two week program when i was 8 months into work. these were concerned with further developing softer skills such as management, people management, business acumen, self-analysis, negotiation and influencing skills. some of these were more effective than others. i've definitely increased my abilities in project management, negotiation, people profiling, influencing skills. there are also training programs desgined for the transfer of company specific technical training. this includes things such as good manufacturing practises. there are online learning modules for this located in the companies' learning management system. a lot of different work areas have similar learning modules for different types of knowledge transfer. this system seems to work quite effectively.

Significant technical and management training available we have a large amount of internal training courses, which means the company doesn't have to pay great amounts of money for it, which in turn means that any training you choose that you want, regardless of role, can be facilitated

We have had 4 weeks worth of professional development in a huge number of areas. public speaking, negotiation, commercial acumen, project management, and other personal/professional development

Complicated and non-transparent process for job specific upskilling, and the generic graduate development topics often miss the mark. no training has covered some of the important details about why we work the way we do.

Most of my training has been technical skills learnt on the job.

I have done a lot of training around radiation safety and safety in general. i was able to refresh my first aid training through work. there is a bit of training provided through the graduate program as well.
