Our internship program will kick off in November 2024 and includes an introduction to BDO and our service lines including Audit, Business Advisory Services, Corporate Advisory Services, Deal Advisory Services, Agri Business and Tax. You will enjoy a taste of each of our service lines during your internship and gain a greater understanding of what a career with BDO looks like.

As this is an internship position, we are looking for people in their second or third year of study who are working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance and are working towards the CA ANZ/CPA/CFA pre-requisites.

You must be available to complete a 10-week program running November 2024 to February 2025.

Pros and cons of working at BDO New Zealand

Pros

  • The culture at BDO is great, as there are lots of different social activities that you can participate in throughout the year.

  • The support provided by the people around me.

  • Flexitime works well for me...start earlier in the day...and leave at a good time to still have time after work.

  • Many learning opportunities, consistent training, on-time feedback, and encouragement."

  • The office here is very big and has heaps of facilities available such as a coffee machine, multiple microwaves, fridges, and toastie makers.

Cons

    • Workflow inconsistencies—being light on work.

    • Sometimes it felt as if there wasn't enough training before getting thrown into it.

    • Small office space on busy days.

    • Time feels a little micromanaged.

    • Office temperature is never right.
