As this is a graduate level position, we are looking for people who are studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance, and will have completed their CA ANZ/CPA/CFA pre-requisites by the end of 2025 or mid-way through 2026.

We have opportunities available in our Audit and Assurance Services, Taxation Services and Business Advisory Services teams. It’s OK if you’re not sure what service line you are most interested in just yet, once you have met with us and found out a bit more about the different areas in the business, you will be able to make an informed decision.

Pros and cons of working at BDO New Zealand

Pros

  • The culture at BDO is great, as there are lots of different social activities that you can participate in throughout the year.

  • The support provided by the people around me.

  • Flexitime works well for me...start earlier in the day...and leave at a good time to still have time after work.

  • Many learning opportunities, consistent training, on-time feedback, and encouragement."

  • The office here is very big and has heaps of facilities available such as a coffee machine, multiple microwaves, fridges, and toastie makers.

Cons

    • Workflow inconsistencies—being light on work.

    • Sometimes it felt as if there wasn't enough training before getting thrown into it.

    • Small office space on busy days.

    • Time feels a little micromanaged.

    • Office temperature is never right.
