How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
As a grad there is flexibility around hours and working from home depending on your rotation.
Graduate, Auckland - 15 Aug 2024
The hours in most rotations are pretty relaxed. I've left early a couple times to beat traffic or get somewhere I need to be. As long as you're doing the work and putting in the effort Managers generally don't mind. In saying that I have been more than happy to stay behind after hours to complete something urgent or jump online at home to finish something off.

Again, very much based on site and manager. So far, my managers have been very accommodating and understanding when it comes to hours and flexibility. However, I would add that as grads sometimes when there isn't a lot of work to do even after the grad has sought out any work, the managers should provide some work for them to do or tell them to leave a bit earlier as this is only fair.

I work around 8 hours a day and I am perfectly happy with working a little longer to resolve or finish some work. Some times I start work at 8:30 and some times at 9, work is flexible as long as I complete the tasks assigned to me.

So far, I feel as though the company has been flexible with work hours such as leaving slightly early to make an appointment or arriving early in order to finish early in order to beat the traffic. While this will depend on the role so far as a grad it has been relatively easy to be flexible when needed.
