Application Process & Interviews at Eagle Technology

From memory, I've applied by receiving an email from the HR as I've made some connections from people who used to and currently work at Eagle. I've handed my CV to HR. However, it took a while to get a response and there was a quick turnaround on when they could do an interview. There was the application process, followed by an online test, and then an online interview.

The interview process felt very standard and was similar to most interviews I've had in the past.

A while after applying, I was asked to complete some psychometric assessments through Aon before completing an interview through Teams.

Interview questions were standard, but also very friendly and based a lot of personality type, not just achievements which I greatly appreciated.

An online exam and virtual interview. The process could have been more efficient as after applying, there was no response for a while.

The whole process is very clear and nice. you will have the information about when will have an interview and when comes out the result.

There was a single interview for the internship I applied for.

I came in through an internship program. It may vary for people applying for other positions. There was a focus on my recent postgraduate studies in GIS.

Interview was straightforward - during our first lockdown in the early days of COVID so a learning process for all.

3 panel interview process with department leaders. Asking a mix of technical skills, social skills, and personal skills.

Currently, the interviews are virtual. The interview panel is friendly and very interested in you, part of the interview discusses your studies but this is not the only focus, they also discuss your interest and passions.

Quick and relatively painless

Questions that are quite scenario based to showcase my ability to work in a slightly fast paced environment, as well as how I can work well with my colleagues. There were also some questions in regards to my exposure to GIS and Technology as well.

Why do you want this job? How would your friends describe yourself? What work environments do you work best in?

Where I saw myself in 5 years. Many situational questions where I was asked to provide examples/experiences for certain situations, for example taking the lead in a group activity.

Experience in GIS/GIS general knowledge, but also my ability to work in a team, and questions about my personal passions/hobbies

They were typical interview questions about strengths, weaknesses and scenarios etc

Technical questions on the software I would be working with, and about who I am and goals I have.

Describe yourself - how you describe ArcGIS Online to someone who dont know GIS - what you like the most/least in GIS - some other common questions, but really dont remember now sorry

The interview followed with the standard questions of any regular job interview based on how one has handled example situations in the past, or how they would approach them if they hadn't been faced with the situation before.

Technical Ability questions, questions about GIS and it's relation to ArcGIS Online / ArcGIS Pro, questions about career direction and goals.

Cannot remember too much. experience with the platform/tech. What kind of work you are interested in etc.

I was asked what my favourite assignment was I had worked on at Uni. Where I see myself in 5 years work-wise. Why did I choose to study GIS.

Can you tell me about any previous experience you might have had in [x] situation?

Honestly speaking, be prepared to have a fast turn around when your interview is and expect to be asked scenario based questions. In terms of the pre-interview web thing, please do it in a quiet room where you can concentrate. This is important as it tests your character and your multitasking ability.

Prepare questions for them that you want to know about the business. Also, think about possible answers to questions they might ask.

A general knowledge of Esri products would be useful as we are an Esri distributor and this software is the backbone of our services. More important, demonstrating a knowledge to be able to learn and apply the learning and to adapt as software is constantly changing and there is always areas we need to develop expertise in.

To have examples from University / previous jobs about the work they had done, as well as examples for situational questions.

Prepare by knowing about GIS, but also express what makes you personable and easy to work with. Knowledge can be taught, but Eagle looks for people that can be trained and are lovely to work with.

Refresh your memory of basic GIS concepts

Do yourself, be nice, take seriously to each question.

Familiarise yourself with ArcGIS tools, the more the better.

If you have done some learning and have confidence in taking on the work the only thing you really would need is to know how to apply for and prepare for a job / interview - and there is a lot of info online for this if you have not already been shown in school.

Have examples of technical ability, proof of ability to work through problems and figure things out

Show enthusiasm to working in tech, connecting people and data. and mapping some pretty cool stuff.

Come prepared with questions of your own about the company. Talk about why you are interested in working for the company.
