The company is deeply dedicated to diversity and inclusion. Being from an ethnic minority in New Zealand, I found it an incredible opportunity to work for such a renowned company. Additionally, there is a balanced representation of women and men from various backgrounds and cultures.

Our team has a range of ages, backgrounds, and cultures. My mirror grad in my team has a background in computational chemistry and I have a chemical and materials engineering background which is super cool to see how the company is looking for varied skills. Interestingly, our team is majority women whether this is due to systematic reasons (e.g. only women apply) or if there is a bias in recruitment...
LGBTIQA+ awareness is lacking as is general diversity awareness. I have overheard underhanded homophobic/transphobic/racist remarks made towards openly queer/minority people, or even having such conversations with said queer/minority people, which was super weird.... Not sure if they are aware of what they are saying, but do wonder what role and responsibility the company has in educating/dealing with this?

Seems pretty committed, in interviews they discussed the advantages to people from diverse cultures as positives.

Yeah pretty good, I don't have much visibility, I feel the Maori & Pasifika representation in PD Engineers are low.

Employees are from very diverse backgrounds; We have monthly gender minority morning tea; Recently we can choose to add our pronouns to the email signatures.

Company is becoming more diverse and open to ethnic minorities and LGBTIQA+ community. A few 'WEN' events and is a pretty inclusive place.

Celebration of Women's Day, support of female graduate hiring, inclusive interview panels, pay transparency

Lots of ethnic diversity, although limited in terms of Māori and Pasific employees. Gender diversity could definitely be improved. Unsure of LBGT+ diversity as it doesn't seem to have much focus/visibility - would love to see more of this.

They like to care for their staff's needs and interest. They recently put out a survey to see how people felt about their inclusiveness and what could be done to improve etc.

On International Women's Day, the company held a female-led panel discussion that was open to all teams - over 200 people joined, including males. Every two weeks, we have a shared morning tea for women in the workplace. We also have numerous clubs that are very inclusive to all genders, ethnicities, and sexualities. The company recently improved their childcare/maternity/paternity leave policy.

Super cool to see clubs for both gender and racial minority groups. International diversity days like womens day and Chinese New Year are celebrated as well. In terms of recruitment, it was slightly disappointing to see only 5 women out of 22 starting on the same day as me. In future it would be great if there was more outreach to LGBTQ+ employees.

This company has a very good family leave policy. They advertise to everyone and highlight diversity in their advertisements. They champion diversity in the workplace. I don't know how things are regarding neurodiversity though.

The company put in a big effort around International Women's day, which I think the women in the office appreciated. Also they have increased their parental leave policies. Around the office are many people from various different countries.

It is a very culturally diverse workplace, with people from all types of backgrounds. People are judged by their capability to do their job rather than their race, religion or gender. There's a mix of different people in management positions, and also regular engineers that are recruited by the company.

There is a diversity group, but it has only recently been formed and not much has been delivered or accomplished yet.

In my opinion, F&P as a company is already very accepting and human-centered. Although it doesn't specifically promote every aspect of human diversity, I don't personally see a need in such things, as long as people are treated fairly and with understanding (which I'd say we are...)

Within cooking PD there is not enough women. I am one of two cooking PD engineering women. In 2019 when I was involved in interviewing new grads in Dunedin, I interviewed 16 people who were all male. And all of the grads who were hired were male. I think that was very poor.

The company created a diversity committee (following the MeToo and BLM movements) whose purpose is to promote diversity in the company - on the whole their activities are not visible so I can't comment on what they achieve. Prior to aforementioned movements their was no emphasis on diversity, and during this time the company's Brand story presentation brought up comments around the office on the lack of diversity portrayed.

They are trying but as a member of the working group on gender diversity I have been incredibly disappointed by the limitations on the kind of actions that upper management is willing to take
Graduate, Auckland - 07 Apr 2021
I have not been heavily involved in this and am not in a position to comment. As far as I can tell generally people are treated fairly but it's hard for me to say.
