Not very flexible unless you have a certain reason for needing to be.

Generally 8:30 to 5, with adequate lunch break. Quite flexible in terms of coming in early/leaving early, hybrid work possible
Graduate, Auckland - 08 Aug 2024
My company has strong support around flexibility of work hours, and particularly for testing, when these hours can increase, is the best approach to take. I typically work 7am to 3:30pm, allowing me to minimise travelling at peak times.
Graduate, Auckland - 08 Aug 2024
Eight hours a day is sometimes not enough during peak testing periods. Our team is relaxed surrounding leaving early to offset over time provided any offset leave does not disrupt workflow or inhibit the progression of priority projects. As long as you work 40h week between Mondays and Fridays, working hours are pretty flexible.

Would prefer a more hybrid work style

The company is very flexible when it comes to hours. If I have a doctor's appointment during the day, I can go attend that and make up the missed hours another day. I have never been asked for proof when I am sick but when I am, I am encouraged to rest and not work. I am probably allowed to come in earlier and leave earlier (or come in late and leave late), I would just have to notify my functional leader.

I work 8.5 hours every day (half an hour unpaid lunch). My contract says my hours are 08:00 to 16:30 but I typically work from 07:00 to 15:30 as a personal choice. The hours that you work are flexible to an extent with some people in my team arriving at 09:00 or later as long as you are getting your work done and are present in the office for 40 hours a week most of the time. I do wish that there was more opportunity to work in a hybrid working model with some days being spent working from home. That said, if you are sick or have another valid reason, it is acceptable to work from home.

I work 5 days a week in the office often, able to work around usual office hours and work longer and shorter as required compensate for doctors' appointments etc...
Graduate, Auckland - 31 Jul 2024
I work 8 hours. Although if I'm not feeling well or needed to be somewhere after work, I can totally leave a bit early, just need to let my leader know.
Graduate, Dunedin - 31 Jul 2024
Work hours are pretty flexible. You are able to come early and leave early and even come late leave late. As long as hours are fulfilled.
You will find that when workload gets heavy, you will stay for a few hours extra a week. WFH is occasionally an option, but not something that can generally be given on a consistent basis (for Product Development at least).
Graduate, Auckland - 31 Jul 2024
I have found it pretty flexible in terms of office hours. As long as I get my 40 hours in and work done, start and finish times each day are flexible to an extent. Required to be in the office through the busiest part of the day. Limited flexibility to work remotely.
Graduate, Dunedin - 04 May 2023
Likes consistency within induvial hours.
Graduate, Dunedin - 04 May 2023
Work 8 - 8.5 hours a day. Very flexible what times I can come in which is good for me as it allows me to miss the traffic.
Graduate, Auckland - 04 May 2023
9am-5.30pm or 9.30am-6pm (8+ full working hours per day), although sometimes this has been running over time by 30 min since my team is busy on NPIs. Work is in-office, but the hours are shifted to avoid the commute. Working from home some days is an option, but I prefer to work in office. Flexible so long as I work the full hours, the work is done, and I'm available for all meetings and discussions (including informal collaborative chats).
Graduate, Auckland - 29 Mar 2023
Typically 8am to 4:30pm with lunch, morning tea and afternoon tea breaks. FPA are fairly flexible with working hours, it just requires communication with your team leader.
Graduate, Auckland - 28 Mar 2023
Mon-Fri 8 am to 4:30 pm. Company is somewhat flexible when it comes to hours - depends on your Functional Leader. Possible to start later/earlier or leave work to go to an appointment/lunch date and catch up on those lost hours later.
Graduate, Dunedin - 24 Mar 2023
Flexible about breaktimes and work hours etc. but not a huge amount of flexibility with regard to working from home.
Graduate, Auckland - 24 Mar 2023
I tend to come in anytime from 8am-9am, then leave around 4:30pm -5:30pm. It is generally flexible.
Graduate, Auckland - 24 Mar 2023
Relatively flexible - the ability to work from home is great when it comes to appointments. There is also a high level of trust in the office, you are trusted to be fulfilling the hours you are contracted to and completing the work expected from you.
Graduate, Auckland - 24 Mar 2023
Very flexible hours. Some people start at 7 while other start at 9. Its just about achieving 40 hours
